Yet every PPV we always talk about how good the tag team title match was. AOP/Sanity was great, Rollins/Ambrose vs Cesaro/Sheamus was great, Usos vs New Day was fkn relegated to the kick off and was good. When will Vince & Co see there IS money in tag teams, if 3 teams were marketed nearly as hard as New Day are you'd have 4 very over and drawing teams. Can't wait to see AOP on the main roster, hopefully on Smackdown feuding with New Day off the bat.

I don't like that WWE gives the Tag Team titles to randomly paired superstars more often than they do actual tag teams. It should be a rare occurrence.

What do you mean lack of respect. I can't think of a time when the tag titles were more featured than now in the past decade.
Both tag-titles were defended tonight and both were used in a very meaningful way. I remember when the tag titles would barely make the ppv.

I thought this thread was going to be about the idiotic New York fans throwing and bouncing around a beach ball during the Tag Title match.
Cesaro had every right to destroy it, and I am glad he did.

So there's a lack of respect for the tag division because over 2 nights 1/4 tag team matches was on the pre-show? 🤦🏽♂️

It's kinda weird. Because we talk about Triple H building up women's wrestling, but he's quietly done the same for tag team wrestling. Because NXT had supplied the WWE some great teams. The thing is, Vince has that old school mentality that you have to be in singles to be a huge star. And that's not true anymore. People love great tag team wrestling.
Enzo & Cass could have been huge given just a lil more attention. American Alpha should have been the best WWE tag team in twenty years. Splitting them has done damage to both divisions. Both teams were split way too early. Hopefully the last two failed attempts Vince will think twice before he splits up anymore.
With all that being said, they are at least giving tag team matches time to breathe. The New Day & Usos always deliver great matches. The Bar & Rollins/Ambrose have had a great storyline. I'm hoping we might get Ambrose/Rollins vs the Hardy's next. Then we just need for the Revival to stay healthy and a few more new teams to debut.

Vince may not care for tag team wrestling, but he's still putting it on shows and giving it time, and its been flourishing as of late. I can't recall a time in recent memory that the tag titles have been as coveted or interesting as they are now. The Usos and New Day are both excellent teams, Cesaro & Sheamus have been incredible, and now Ambrose & Rollins can almost certainly continue the positive trend. My only concern is depth. There doesn't appear to be much going beyond the feuds that are in the forefront right now.
In any case, tag team wrestling has seen a bit of a resurgence on both brands and NXT lately, and it's been a pretty bright spot.

I look forward to the day that at just one Wrestlemania, the Tag Team Championships are the closer. Tag Teams used to be able to carry a territory, as they did in the case of the Fabulous Fargos. There's no reason a tag team feud couldn't be built up to be the focal point of the product at different points in time. Same for any of the championships or any feud not based on a title. Given the most popular sports in human history are all team sports, why shouldn't tag-team wrestling be just as popular and difficult as singles? Being a tag-team wrestler shouldn't mean you can't handle a fight on your own, but rather should mean that you & your partner are tough enough to fight multiple men at once, or the two of you are brilliant in the art of tag-team wrestling.
The thing that drives me crazy is that wrestling is like Jazz. Jazz is based on improvisation, but always adhering to certain principles which preserve the art. If you break those rules, it's no longer proper jazz. The same goes for wrestling. Wrestlers these days spend so much time doing flippy nonsense & choreography, that they're leaving A GOLDMINE on the table in terms of respectable, sensible wrestling holds, sequences, & angles.

Agreed - I too hate the fact WWE constantly puts the straps on different wrestlers once every 2-3 weeks - it's making the tag belts meaningless and worthless - totally devaluing the belts.
