While it's known that Cena has political power (though he likes to say he doesn't), I'm not going to take this as any sort of gospel, unless it starts coming from more credible sources. This is still Vince McMahon's company, and he would not pull the plug on a guy solely because Cena (as important as he is) took issue with Corbin.
Vince McMahon changes his mind as much as he changes his clothes. This wouldn't be the first time someone did something, said something, looked the wrong way, acted the wrong way, or was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and felt the wrath of Vince McMahon's erratic decision making.
Also, top guys being asked to offer up their opinions on other workers is nothing new.
And no one is on Hogan's level in terms of burials and politicking. No one.

I take thse reports now with a grain of salt. Why? because these reports say Lana and Rusev asked to be rleased (they didn't); that Naomi was to have a lengthy title reign (she didn't); that Nakamura was taking the title off of Mahal at Summerslam (he didn't); that Banks was turning on Bayley well before Summerslam (she didn't. and then they repeated this rumor for months); shall I go on?
Why not. They reported that Rusev would receive a big push on his return (he didn't); that Wyatt would go over Orton at Mania (he didn't and then we got treated to a ridiculous match); that Reigns would face Lesnar one on one at Summerslam (he didn't); that Cena would face Mahal at Summerslam (he didn't);
These are literally the reports of hte last few months. It's honestly like they just throw the names into a bingo wheel and put some scenarios in another, pull a name out and a scenario out and call it news.
Enzo's being buried? Explains why he's in 205 going after a title.
Corbin's being buried? He's going after what has basically been pushed as the main title since Mahal took over.

I didn't know going into a program with the US Champion AJ Styles is considered being "buried".

Meh. He wasn't ready for the push anyways. Neither is Jinder and he's WWE Champion.

I bet Corbin getting depushed was bound to happen, whether Cena had anything to do with it or not. Like others have said, anything said from dirtsheets, even Meltzer or Mike Johnson, take those news with a grain of salt.

And people compare Reigns to Cena. At least he has never ruined peoples pushes or humiliated his co workers infront of the locker room.

The guy in the article uses the words "I heard" at the beginning and "I don't know" at the end. I fully believe Wikipedia is a more reliable source than wrestling dirt sheets.

Borin Borebin wasnt ready to be a main eventer anyway and he was pissing off more people in the locker room than just Cena.

To be fair, the article actually states that Cena merely said "Corbin isn't ready". Which is a statement I think most would agree with. I think it was a mistake to have him win MITB this year.

I dont know if I would say Cena is more powerful politically....but he is 100% on par with Hogan and HHH. Hogan had it in his contract. HHH was family. Cena is really the only guy Vince could say no to and not get sued or have family drama and yet he doesnt.

I said a few weeks back before he lost the briefcase, that while I like Corbin, I don't believe he was ready just yet. I still believe he's another year (maybe two) from being a top heel. So if this is true, Cena didn't say or do anything I disagree with. Corbin's time will come.
But you also have to remember when dirt sheet reporters can't explain why something happened, they often point the finger at the lowest hanging fruit. They guess. And we fans have to take their info with a grain of salt. Just saying.

I get feeling like Corbin wasn't ready, but don't make him look like an outright geek in the process. I think Going back to NXT Could help Corbin.

Also, you swear way too much on a wrestling figure forum.
