I always think back to the Invasion angle and think about ideas that would have improved it or just simple what ifs. I've wondered what would have happened if Triple H weren't injured, or if any of the big names from WCW were involved. However, just recently, I realized that Big Show was around, but he was used as a mid-card WWF guy. Why was the Big Show not used as "The Giant" from WCW. What were they thinking here. I remember people like Test and Christian being a part of the Alliance at one point and they weren't even in WCW/ ECW. Do you think that the Big Show should have been a part of the Alliance instead?

The Invasion angle was so terrible I stopped watching wrestling until Summerslam 2011.
I hope this answers your question.

I think this was around the time Vince was down on Big Show. There was a period of a few years I believe where Big Show had a bad attitude and was considered lazy. It got to the point where he was sent back down to OVW. Could be why he wasn't used more.

Why be a part of WCW again when you are a part of "Show Gunns" tag team with Billy Gunn?!?!

There really wasn't any logic involved whatsoever when you're talking about the Invasion storyline. You had people jumping ship for no real reason seemingly every week.

Asking Big Show to be The Giant is kind of like going to Kane and saying "Hey I know you've been spending years distancing yourself from it but do you think we can get the dentist tonight?". To the casual viewer, yes Big Show and The Giant would be visually similar and wouldn't think anything of it. But if you use the name The Giant you are bringing back the Dungeon of Doom connection, you are bringing back the "Son of Andre" deal. Big Show hated it and rightfully so. I look back at the Dungeon and like it because of how bad it was. So bad it's good kind of thing.
As for OVW, Big Show was written off WWF TV in August 2000 for weight and attitude issues. He had his first match in OVW in October 2000 and stayed there until early 2001. He made is return to WWF TV at the Royal Rumble 2001.

At that time did they ever acknowledge that The Big Show was a former WCW wrestler? I vaguely remember when he joined the nWo in 2002 they never referred to his past time in the group which would mean that The Big Show and The Giant in kayfabe were two different people. The first time I ever remember his WCW past being mentioned was when he won the ECW title because he was the only man to win all 3 championships.

At the Invasion pay per view, Michael Cole says "Well here's someone that knows a little something about WCW. What it's like to work for that organization." and JR then says that Big Show was a former WCW World Champion & WWF World Champion. At the other two Invasion angle PPV's (No Mercy and Survivor Series) it's not mentioned that he worked for WCW. I'm not sure if they ever mentioned it on Raw or Smackdown at the time.
