As Much as Everyone Knows I am a diehard U2 fan, And they just have a 15-second clip of a new song called "The Blackout". I should know this, because they recorded and shot this before their Joshua Tree 2017 Tour in Paris. And U2 also has teased that their first single might be "The Best Thing" on Songs of Experience. But either way, it's just like they said in Christmas 2016, "2017 is going to be the year of U2" and with the Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary and the potential Songs of Experience on the way. It is. Here is the clip of The Blackout.

Next to Vertigo. This may be a powerful first single on Songs of Experience.

Oh man, never saw this post but have been keeping up! Seriously, with this AND THE KILLERS putting new albums out (not to mention MARK MULCAHY put out a record this year!), 2017 is going to be a banner year in my music fandom. Which... leads me to this; I'm right in the middle of Missouri, and when I saw they were swinging through I planned on hitting both shows. Stuff got in the way and I was busy Tuesday, so I settled on the St Louis show. Me and the group head out EARLY Saturday morning (3 hour drive to St Louis) and were going to spend the morning hitting up the outlet mall. As soon as we get to the place, news hits about the cancellation. Obviously, it sucks. But, y'know, being a lifelong U2 fan, I didn't feel cheated or mad (at the band), I felt proud. I was proud of my fellow statesman for standing up to injustice. I was proud of myself for not feeling like an entitled b tch by getting upset. I was proud when I saw what Bono had said about the situation. Not happy, you see. I hate that murderers who happen to have a badge keep getting away with wanton killing. But I'm proud to be part of something that not only is disgusted by it, but willing to put in the work to change things. It's like, look. If this were "Generic Nu Metal Band #17" (y'know, the guys who did all WWE themes 2002-2011) and I were a lifelong fan of them, I wouldn't have had the proper tool set to react accordingly in this situation. I wouldn't understand the importance of being heard, or "Living out loud". Haha, I know there are some who think it's 2014 and it's "cool" to hate on them, but it's stuff like this that makes me realize how damn lucky I am that U2's music resonated with me at an early age. You uh, you heard "YTBTAM" yet?
