Mattel with Hot Wheels, Barbie, and WWE absolutely could have vendors, but the way those vendor contracts work is, the store makes almost nothing off of them. it wouldn't be beneficial to the stores or Mattel. I worked at Meijer, a store like Walmart in the midwest. we had vendors who worked specific areas of the stores and those vendor products we made pennies off of, if anything

Unlike some people I still enjoy hunting figures down in retail I will only buy a figure off RSC when I'm desperate

Stores can refuse to order a certain product though. my local Smyths didn't stock the Mutants or Retros and yet the rest of the Smyths around the UK did. I know someone who works there and he said that WWE is one of their worst selling products and looking at how many of them are reduced constantly you can understand why stores aren't in any hurry to stock a product that they will lose money on.

I know it's foreign in today's society, but it's called patience. Retro 2 is barely hitting stores. This is why most people on here complain about "shelf warming". They eagerly await a set and find it right away. When the stores finally have a decent stock available all of a sudden they are "warming" PREACH!!!

I hate hunting. I just want the damn figure so I'll typically just buy from Amazon. That's why part of me hates store exclusives. They rarely make it online. At least in Walmart's case. My area usually jas trouble getting and keeping exclusives.
Not finding something just kills my want to shop at that store. I go online for it, further striking a blow to brick and mortar stores.

Pretty much exclusively buy online now. I have no patience to wait 2-3 months for figure to hopefully hit retail. Hunting for action figures store after store is a huge waste of free time AND money.

Admittedly, I've only been collecting Mattel's for a little over a year. But when I can't find a specific figure hunting it just drives me more. Last year I had one hell of a time finding the Tyler Breeze TNF Walmart Exclusive. I was looking for weeks until I finally found it. Then I saw it ever damn time I went to a Walmart after that. My current issue is with the new TNF figures. I really want a Liz, but they haven't even shown up in the area (with a lot of the last TNF series warming) and I'm starting to worry they won't ever get them in.
But outside of exclusives, I don't worry about it as they can usually be found online cheaper at some point or must have items can be ordered from RSC.

I get the majority of my stuff from amazon because it hits before any stores near me. I hate looking for exclusives.

Some of you guys are a little too crazy about those tiny little Retro figures. They must be like crack or heroin or something. So far I have just said no, so I am not suffering.
Wal-Mart sucks and always has sucked. If you are surprised that their slow, crappy distribution is frustrating, well, you shouldn't be.
My local Wal-Marts don't have any Retro Series 2 yet, either. But I remember that it took me 7 months to find the Heenan 4-pack at Target, and for some people it was even longer! So when you have been hunting 7 months for little Stinger, THEN you can complain.

I like the hunt so no. I know I can buy something online later unless it costs too much.

I think my biggest frustration in hunting is that a lot of my stores are so behind on inventory. For example, my favorite target just put out a fresh case of elite 44... now don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to get a shot at some of these figures but it can be disheartening. Another example is my tru just got elite 50... I live in a time warp I swear.
I hate being the guy who asks people to go look in the back for things too, I feel half the time they don't even look they just go sit down and have a snack for 10 mins.

Being from the UK, I would say that with the amount of figures that are store exclusives nowadays, I would have given up if I hadn't have gone to Wrestlemania this year and met peepulation469. His help with the TNFs, NXTs etc etc, is honestly what has kept me going. Same with star Wars. They have become a joke. They can't even distibute the regular black series properly, and they have the cheek to do a Barnes and Noble exclusive. I get more joy out of using a save 6 pound voucher, more than once per household, than the actual toy hunt at the moment. Always glad to help my friend. It's fun tracking stuff down for ya!

I pretty much preorder from Ringside and resort to a friend who lives in an area that gets the exclusives first and paypal him the money. I find myself hunting Marvel Legends though.

At this point, I order all my figures from RSC. However, I love collecting store exclusives and it feels great once I finally find them. I've only broke once and that was with the TNF Sami Zayn.
