I have been customizing figures off and on ever since I was a kid turning a Toy Biz X-Force Forge into Cyclops with blue Testors and a red rubber band for a visor but I only recently started cutomising wrestling figures. My first was a shot at a Mattel Hollywood Hogan using the modern elite some black paint, stubble, and an NWO shirt. I fell down the rabbit hole, started stepping up the ambitiousness of my projects, and joined this forum. So my question to everyone is can you remember your first Mattel fix-up or custom? Your first custom in general? Pictures would be awesome if anyone can post them these days.

Lex Luger elite, JAKKS Kurt Angle singlet, bald JAKKS Kurt Angle head, shorter plain white boots to create Kurt Angle. He looks great and a figure in which I was especially proud to customize.

Basic shield seth rollins...put on cm punk head (the gilbert gotfried one everyone else hates), 2 punk arms from the same figure, swapped the fist for a basic punk open hand. Put an elbow pad on both arms. Added a scratch logo wwe title and a world heavyweight title.
My shield cm punk, as i hoped it would unfold.

Basic - Series 1 Triple H into an hHh trunks Triple H.
Elite - series 2(?) Triple H into an hHh trunks version. And Cody Rhodes into a Ric Flair.

I would say my first "custom" would be a Kurt Angle. HOF Ric Flair base, TNA Marvel headscan, Extreme Rules Sheamus kneepads and Elite 5 Jack Swagger singlet.

First was basic Undertaker. Painted the SS purple to grey (like 7 months before the elite came out) and WM Mr Perfect head.  Second was Joey Ryan elite. Fandango head, Ryder body, Bryan calves/kickpads, and ziggler fist. Aviators painted white.  I do tons of fix ups but hate painting. Id only do it for someone that wouldnt ever get a figure from WWE most likely. Owen would be one I would do maybe. Put that screaming ziggler head to use. |

CM Punk tshirt series shirt on the WM29 Punk elite The white one? Nice. This was my first torso crack. I did like two practice ones on random basics first to learn how to do it clean. I since swapped the head for the b29 chopstache look. I put the two different Super Striker heads on the WM29 elite(tan hair greyish beard) and white shirt basic(dark hair) All the same sculpt just painted different.  |

I may have done a quick part swap that I'm forgetting, but the first Mattel custom / fixup that I did was Razor Ramon and Scott Hall.
I bought 2 extra Elite 23 JBL figures and turned them into Razor Ramon and red/black Scott Hall. I used R3 Hall heads with them.

I've long since lost the pictures thanks to Photobucket, but I believe my first batch of Mattel customs were a Basic Delirious, Sara Del Ray, and an Elite Kenny Omega in his green/orange attire.
God I miss the retail prices from those early sets.

Fix up- switching randy orton and dolph ziggler heads
Custom- Jeff Hardy Jakks TNA Jeff Hardy Scan rock wm27 figure for torso and legs and i painted the shirt on him lol
