If the ropes were maybe just like half an inch higher I would consider this. The rope just look weird at that height though. I'm currently in the process of building my own ring. About the same height at the RSR but 20x20 instead of what I think was 22x22. Fits better in my space. I have no experience woodworking but thats exactly what I want to do. Im looking at classes near me and want to turn my garage into a little woodshop. Definitely share pics etc when you finish. How are you gonna make it?

Im looking at classes near me and want to turn my garage into a little woodshop. Definitely share pics etc when you finish. How are you gonna make it? It doesn't take much skill to make. What it takes it the proper tools. I didn't have all the correct tools and my town has certain noise ordinances that make use of the tools I do have difficult. We aren't supposed to use power tools on Sundays (I really only have Saturdays and Sundays free and I generally spend Saturdays running errands). Normally no one would really complain if I did use power tools, but my neighbor is quick to call the police at the slightest inconvinience (meanwhile her dog craps on everyone's lawns and she never picks it up). Anyway, it's basically just cheap wood, construction screws, finishing nails, pvc pipe, canvas, paint, and fabric. I went to home depot and grabbed a couple long thin wood rails and a piece of plywood. I cut the rails with a chop saw to make a square frame and some feet. Secured everything together with contruction screws to make it real sturdy. Then my chop saw was too small and I didn't have easy access to my table saw, so I had to cut the plywood with a hand saw. I used finishing nails to nail it to the top of the frame and used a router to trim off the excess. I had some 1/4 metal pipes for the ring posts, but I didn't like how I was throwing sparks when I was cutting them. So instead I went with 1/2 inch pvc pipes for the posts. WAY easier to work with. Attaching them was kind go tough though. I eventually got nylon straps and stapled them around the posts and to the wood frame, then put a screw through each post into the corner of the frame. The straps are looking kind of ugly though, so I may remove those and give some extra security with instamorph. I also put some very tiny eye hooks into the posts to attach the turnbuckles I'm just taking from the ESR. That's as far as I've gotten so far. I'm waiting for some spray paint to come in so I can paint the posts. Then I'm probably going to glue down a sheet of foam to muffle the sound a bit. Once that's done, I'm going to wrap it in some canvas that I cut out and make aprons to attach. Also, gotta buy some ropes from Ringside.

If you're a fan of the Jakks BCA figure scale, you will love this new ring. It almost feels like it was made for them. That's probably not a good thing to hear if you're a Mattel Elite figure collector in 2017, though. Wicked Cool Toys may be a better fit for you. All I know is that me from 20 years ago would have flipped over this ring. I had some trouble with step #6 while setting up the ring. It felt like the apron pieces would never click in place. Besides that, the setup was easy and painless. I like how sturdy it is. The light-up ring apron and posts are a nice touch, especially in the dark. The steps being all one piece takes some getting used to, but they fit the ring nicely. Chicago those bca's look awesome in there. the ring is 20 years late haha Forgot to mention, I wouldn't take classes if it costs a lot of money. There's tons of really good tutorial type videos on YouTube. I learned from watching YouTube and fiddling around. I think you can get wood extra cheap at Home Depot if you ask for like offcuts and defective stuff. It's good wood but probably has markings or the wood is too short to sell at full price or there's a chip in it. This Old House has a ton of good stuff on YouTube. I learned how to make a picnic table from one of their videos. Also check out cosplay videos. Cosplayers use a ton of different materials and in their videos you can learn a lot about how to achieve various effects on the cheap.

I wish the lights were brighter.

Fastened the posts a bit stronger today by adding some more support at the corners. Started moving on to painting. Hopefully tomorrow I can lay down some foam and secure the canvas. Maybe Sunday I'll make the apron and put that on. Haven't figured out how I want to secure it yet.

bababooey awesome stuff what is the white/gray piece you used to fasten the ring post to the posts underneath the ring? It's called Instamorph. It's these little plastic pellets that you heat up and they get sticky. You can heat it and make kind of like a dough so that you can then mold it any way you'd like. When it cools it's hard as a rock, but you could always heat it up and mold it again. People make some really cool stuff with it, but due to the stickiness of it I'm limited to crude pieces. Pics of my finished (for now) ring are in the fixup thread. I'm eventually going to change the ropes and apron, but not for a while.

Got mine this morning. This thing is so ing good. I love it. Miles beyond the ASR. The height is perfect I don't understand the complaining. Goldberg is fantastic in person too. Head is just fine Please get it in your hand before you complain. This is probably my second favorite ring ever next to Jakks Hardcore ring.

Granted I don't have the thing, but the pictures clearly demonstrated an issue with the height of the ropes in my opinion. Any pictures you could post?

The scale 20x20 looks to be ok but those ring ropes just ruin it. The pic with Hogan, Razor & Nash pretty much prove that. Top rope should be around the bottom of Hogans pecs and right around Nash's waist. The top rope is much lower then that. Ill stick to the ASR even though its over sized, but it seems custom rings are the way to go.

Is there a way you could cut a red square Lego into 4 and prop up the corners that way? It would kill the led feature but ya I think you could gimmick something in there to lift it up and keep it tight. Red Lego or something is genius. Good one Could you take a pic with all the 4 ring posts that high. If they all go that high and it still secures the ropes during use. Then i'll get it. As that pic has changed my mind now.

It's not a bad looking ring. It's still not the right height I mean the ropes come up to the figures waist. So not the right scale at all. But the asr is too wide so neither are exactly right in the scale dept. I think the big factor is the amount of customizing options you have with the asr that make it the winner for me.

That Goldberg has one new part and it's a huge head. Goldberg has been signed roughly a year and all they do is put a Goldberg head on a Triple H body and pack it with a horrible ring and sell it for 100 bucks. that. this made me LOL.. thanks man.

I got this ring last night and I like it quite a bit. Thought I would hate it after everyone took a collective dump on it, but the mat is a lighter color than the ASR rings. The post being short does suck, but it's not that bad. The only thing that really sucks about this set is the steel steps. Smaller than the ones we have gotten in the past and it's one whole piece. That is really annoying, but this fits much better in my figure space.
