I got this ring last night and I like it quite a bit. Thought I would hate it after everyone took a collective dump on it, but the mat is a lighter color than the ASR rings. The post being short does suck, but it's not that bad. The only thing that really sucks about this set is the steel steps. Smaller than the ones we have gotten in the past and it's one whole piece. That is really annoying, but this fits much better in my figure space. You have to remember that those who crapon it the most, didn't actually have it. I wish the posts were higher, too, but the sturdiness, and how well it's made, absolutely blow the ASR away. Those things are flimsy, and very cheaply made.

Got it from Amazon today. Gotta love all the people complaining the head scan looks huge. In hand it is the perfect size. No place to set it up so ring will remain in the box

It would kill the led feature but ya I think you could gimmick something in there to lift it up and keep it tight. Red Lego or something is genius. Good one Could you take a pic with all the 4 ring posts that high. If they all go that high and it still secures the ropes during use. Then i'll get it. As that pic has changed my mind now. So you don't even need a lego or anything to prop up the ring posts. All 4 ring posts can be elevated and are still secured. The below pics show the ring with all four ring posts lifted the same height. There is no caving. Works well. So ya for sure if you're on the fence get the ring and slide the ring posts only about half way down instead of pegging them in all the way Edit Forgot you can't raise the post with the light button without some modding because it's glued to the base piece. So the above pics depict 3 of the 4 posts raised

I picked this ring up yesterday, and to be honest, the lowest rope isn't as low as it seems in certain pictures. I don't even notice how low it is.

Is there a way you could cut a red square Lego into 4 and prop up the corners that way? It would kill the led feature but ya I think you could gimmick something in there to lift it up and keep it tight. Red Lego or something is genius. Good one This works for 3 of the posts. but what about the 4th post with the LED on off button? This one doesn't lift up the same way does it? Unless there is a way to do it that I am not seeing. If I can figure out how to do this with the 4th post the ring will be saved for me.

Problem is it requires a second ring purchase. See the ring base has 4 parts. Part A, B, and 2Cs. A has the attachment for the power button post (the problem post that can't be raised up). B. is the same shape as A only with a normal post mount. If there was a way to get a second B section and a plain post all 4 posts could be raised up to the proper height. with a BCBC conficguration.

Mattel- "We sold double the amount of rings because we didnt make the posts the right height! We knew people would spend $200 just to fix the ring posts! Lets make a smackdown ring with the same problems!" Im currently waiting delivery on my ring. im not sure how much the height of the posts will bother me until i see it in person. but I dont see myself or my wife letting me get a second ring just to fix 1 post lol

But perhaps if enough people write a complaint to customer service service.mattel.com/us/ContactUs.aspxthey may try to remedy the problem, or offer the replacement parts for free or a reasonable additional cost through their parts web site. I remember when Jakks released the first RSR ring there was a post issue and they offered free engineered ring post replacement parts upon request. I can hope that Mattel would do the right thing to fix this.

He said to get a Goldberg in 2017. There's more coming next year "It's the only place you can get a 2017 Goldberg in the line from Mattel" Taken directly from the video. You're all reading too into it. Bill has said similar things, then we got said things. Goldberg blows anyway. Especially old man goldberg

I don't really like the idea of sliding the posts up, because then all of the rope tension is on the narrow track that the posts slide into. Plus you can't raise the one with the button =( I will get it anyway and just deal with the low ropes, because I hate the size of the ASR and I need that Goldberg figure. I might try to make my own custom ring one day.

Pay 100 bucks for a ring and break it so that the ropes are slightly more tolerable, but still out of scale.
Where do I sign up??

I might try to make my own custom ring one day. The 3 posts that do slide up are still sturdy. The rope tension does not seem to effect them at all when doing this. The problem lies in that the 4th posts doesn't move. So I did some surgery on the 4th post to see if it could be extended and it can't. I opened it up and there is nothing inside that could slide up. I did write customer service about my complaints. They were polite of course. But appeared not to understand that the complaint was about the rope height and focused on touting that the ring is 20x20. Which in reality it isn't. The ring should be measured by the size of the canvas, not from the outside of post to outside of post. Especially with those big led posts. But oh well. It is what it is. At least folks should be educated now if they choose to buy it. To be fair I knew that this was a problem before I purchased it as when it was displayed at SDCC you could see that the ropes were far too low.
