the wwe has used it's title as a prop on more than one occasion, this is such an example.
and yeah, the comparison of jinder to lesnar/batista/cena is ridiculous.
basically, if you're still watching wwe for quality storylines and logical build, you've been in delusion for the last decade. if people are raving about a wwe match i'll check it out, but i am most certainly not going to contribute to supporting a product that is stale enough that mosquitoes could breed on it.
njpw is waiting with open arms.

Vince hates anything he didn't create and Jinder Mahal is Indian which is where the WWE Network was just launched.....so, business?

Why do people keep bringing up age as an excuse to knock AJ/prop up Jinder? Age means crap as long as you can still be entertaining. Guys like Flair, Savage, Perfect, Bret, HBK, etc... were still by far the tops workers in the business well into their 40s.
AJ being around 40 means nothing since the majority of fans watch SDL for him. He should be the world champ. We didn't see crap like Bret, HBK, Austin and Rock holding midcard titles after making it to the main event. I hate when the WWE gives the midcard titles to guys like AJ, Cena and Reigns who don't need them at this point.

Is pandering to the Indian market worth damaging every other market?

Is pandering to the Indian market worth damaging every other market? No, but they seem to be the only ones who don't realize that.

I really don't mind Mahal as champion. The best guy doesn't have to be the champion. Was Lesnar the best guy in 2002? No. Was Cena the best guy in 2005? No. Was Batista the best guy in 2009? No. Sometimes you have to take a chance and create some stars in the process. Is Jinder the best? No Is Jinder one of the worst? Yes To compare those guys to Jinder is hilarious. At least those guys could all hang at the time and gave great performances. Cena had good matches with Angle and Jericho in 2005. Batista hung with Triple H and Eddie Guerrero. Brock was arguably the best thing in 2002 other than HBK's return. And Jinder?.... who has he had a good match with since winning the title in May? Absolutely nobody. Batista? Putting on great performances? lol.

The thing is, people can sit here and complain about Jinder being champion and how it was the wrong move. But from a finical standpoint, I bet everyone here would do the same if it was their company. India has a HUGE market. And by catering to them, it will help WWE grow. And that is something we should all want.
Soon Nakamura will be champ. And probably will be facing AJ at WM. And people will have to find something else to complain about.

Sad to think that this was AJ's last Smackdown as champion.
Not only did Cena downgrade him but he also tore apart the awesome year he had and now AJ's currently a mid card champion.
Putting all that aside I like Mahal as champion but his two main issues are his spot on the card and Orton. He's the World champion so should be the main guy on Smackdown instead of being a mid card act. What didn't help either was the fact that he was feuding with Orton who hasn't had a decent feud in years. Lets hope Nakamura can make things interesting.

Batista might not have been AJ Styles in the ring, but with the right opponent he put on great performances. I have fond memories of WM 21 and 23 respectively.

Yeah there's a lot of people in India, but what people aren't aware of is the Indian economy is awful. There's pretty much no middle class and poverty is rampant.

Yeah there's a lot of people in India, but what people aren't aware of is the Indian economy is awful. There's pretty much no middle class and poverty is rampant. Odd. A simple Google search says otherwise... "The economy of India is the sixth-largest in the world measured by nominal GDP and the third-largest by purchasing power parity (PPP). In FY 2015 and 2017 India's economy became the world's fastest growing major economy surpassing China". "India has emerged as the fastest growing major economy in the world as per the Central Statistics Organization (CSO) and International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Government of India has forecasted that the Indian economy will grow by 7.1 per cent in FY 2016-17. As per the Economic Survey 2016-17, the Indian economy should grow between 6.75 and 7.5 per cent in FY 2017-18." "India's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7 per cent year-on-year in October-December 2016 quarter, which is the strongest among G-20 countries." "India’s vibrant economy, which is the world’s fourth fastest growing economy in the world thus far in 2017."

If you are the Dave Meltzer way of thinking, the champion should be the best worker in the company, so AJ Styles. If you are Vince McMahon, 9 times out of 10 a champion is the champion for business reasons. It's either a put it on Sheik to get to Hogan cause Hogan was the draw, put it on Diesel because of his size and he doesn't look like he is on steroids, put it on Bray to drop to Randy for Summerslam, Randy drop it to Jinder for India.
