Just went on WWE.com to look at last night's SmackDown! and saw a banner at the top of the site with "Breaking News: ___________ Wins Inaugural Mae Young Classic".
What's that about? I was looking froward to watching that!
Any ideas as to why they do that? I might as well not watch the show now.

Probably because the match happened 3 hours ago.
If you haven't watched the match by now, then it's kind of your own fault if you got it spoiled.

I'd say you get considerably more than 3 hours before the statute of limitations runs out on spoilers. They do the exact same thing with PPV's. Being in the UK, watching them live isn't an option. A number of times, I've come home from work on the Monday evening, opened the WWE network app to watch the PPV, only to be confronted with the headline "Randy Orton wins the Royal Rumble" or "Cena's the new WWE Champion". It's very ing irritating, and ruins the whole show.

I mean, you went on to WWE.com where they're gonna post all news and results first and it's gonna be all over the front page. I spoiled some of SmackDown by going on Facebook from a random wrestling page, I'm not mad that they were posting about SmackDown because it's a wrestling page. It's annoying absolutely but you went to THE place for WWE information, maybe search SmackDown Live and go to I don't know WrestleZone or somewhere like that?

This is standard. I don't get how people are still upset over this. This is the norm, deal with it.

How about not going onto a wrestling website if you don't want to see results about wrestling shows

Unfortunately it comes down to staying off the net if it means you don't want anything spoiled.

But surely if you open the WWE network app to watch the PPV, you shouldn't be greeted with the results plastered all over the home page.

That's one thing they really need to change about the app. When I first got it I didn't turn off notifications and it freaking sent me a message "JOHN CENA HAS DEFEATED RUSEV!" Now if I'm checking Network times I legit hide the screen with my hand and wait for the Network logo to appear before clicking on it.

I think people have misinterpreted the tone of my post, I'm not annoyed, I just don't understand it.
As in, if you went on WWE.com to see the results of a show, that show is usually the main thing when you open the site and it will have a headline like "Who Came Out On Top When the Viper met the Rockstar?" or whatever, and it'll have a picture of Orton and Nak in a tie up or something similar. Often, they do a good job of waiting for you to click on the article or video to see the actual result, but this was just a banner across the top of the site that spoiled the result of a match you have to have the network to watch. I'm someone who goes to WWE.com and clicks on "Network" so I can see what's on the site before I watch something, so why spoil the result of a match that people like me are on their way to watch?
Also, if you don't live in the US or a country with the same timezone (or only a small time difference) watching WWE live through the network (or on telly) is absolute torture because it starts at 1am and finishes at 4am (or midnight til 7am if it's WrestleMania), so I rely on watching SD and Raw through the highlights on the website, and PPVs after the event on the network.
I'm not angry or butthurt, I'm just seeing what people think. To me, it's like queuing up to see a film at the pictures and then a member of the front of house staff walking along the line telling everyone the ending as you walk in.

I live on the west coast so I've already learned to stay off their site and social media if I don't want Raw or Smackdown spoiled.

How about having their app on your phone for the network, and getting updates about what's happening on RAW and Smackdown when we have to wait 3 hours until it airs here on the west coast.i can honestly say, I haven't watched WWE in about 6 months because of that crap. My son and I watch the PPVs together.

I agree that it's kind of silly to just drop results like that. You should want people to click further into your site to search for the information they want.
That being said, it's probably best to stay off the net until you watch the show if spoilers will ruin it for you.

This is the argument I use whenever my wife tells me I don't always HAVE to watch PPVs live, when the Network has the events On Demand later.
But then again, she goes with me to shows, so I can't really complain.

Know what really annoys me? When an NFL game is on and I'm unable to watch it. So I think hey I'll record and watch that in a few hours. So then naturally, after the live game has ended, before I watch my recording, I go to NFL.com.
And bah gawd could you believe they spoiled the game? Unbelieveable. You'd think they wouldn't want spoil their own games and would give people a few days to watch before posting about it.
Crazy as that sounds, people don't, but should view wresting the same way.
