Do it the Mattel board way, make a poll to show just how bad of a decision this was. Nothing personal against you of course...Just bad move. This thread should suffice. I have no problem with being wrong if it helps me to learn on the job. Getting actual, honest reactions from fellow board members is a positive. I appreciate the feedback.

I would have thought the few Whiners who constantly complained, petitioned mods and posted in the Lounge about moving a topic they didnt even use would be here to defend their "logic"
Some people need to get a life
Who was that guy who posted in the lounge about moving the fix up thread all the time? Wheres that guy?

To be fair, the only ones of us whining were the ones who were here before you guys killed the customs board. I know that even though people myself and Triple S were fans of the move back to the custom board, we certainly didn't send out curse filled PMs (like Apoc did to me), lose sleep, take our ball and go home, ect. I mean, I might've brought it up twice a year for the last 4 years, but I certainly didn't constantly PM MODs or other users harassing them. And as long as Tommycoholic posts in the Customs board, there'll always be a faint pulse over there.

By no means a personal attack so I hope you dont/didnt take it that way. I just doesnt make sense moving a thread that got anywhere between 5-10 different replies a day to a thread that doesnt even get 5-10 visitors a day. Not only that its alienated most of the regular users there who aren't going to use it.

I can see both sides in this situation.
On one hand it does make sense for the Fix Up Thread to be a part of the Customs board. Fix Ups are a form of customization. And if the thread being there causes More traffic on the Customs board, that's cool. Some great work could get more attention and it could help inspire some great work from others.
On the other hand, I enjoyed it on the Mattel board. Its main purpose as a 'fix up' thread, is to show some minor changes to improve Mattel figures, such as head swaps, accessories swaps, adding missing elbow pads, raising and lowering heads. It doesn't bother me however if projects of more difficulty, that others would consider a custom instead of a fix up, are shown there as well.
I do think a heads up should have been given before the move, just so no one thinks that the thread has been DELETED. But I've got it bookmarked, so it didn't really bother me. Now the extremely odd title did kinda throw me for a loop though lol.

I prefer it being on the Mattel board the majority of the fix ups are Mattel so it makes sense.

Why were @zombieapocalypse 's guides deleted and why is the thread title '.' now? I'd love to see the Customs board thriving again but I highly doubt that the thread will get anywhere near the traffic it was getting before here in the Mattel board and I worry overall engagement will decline and cause less and less people to post their work.

The move makes sense, it should’ve always been in the Customs board, it was undeniably my favourite board to visit/post in during JAKKS WWE day’s. Anyone who’s moaning about the thread move simply doesn’t wanna click a few more times to reach it. Hopefully we don’t have a bunch of people who dictate what is acceptable as a custom and what is a fix-up and complain about threads being pushed down by actual passable custom work because those guys were a$$holes. That board is a pretty good way to keep a portfolio of your work too, the way Tommycoholic, Chargrove, Skunk, Deepfreeze do, hopefully more people create threads full of their own work instead of relying on the fix-up thread.

I was staying out of this , You are the one who messaged me to Gloat and brag about how you got the Fix up board moved for whatever strange reason, when was the last time i even posted there? I was the one who told you not to message me, and i never sent you curse filled messages. this proves how much of a loser you are man, you need to get a life. Leave me out of your drama If anyones wondering why the first post/thread title was deleted, its because i was trying to take my name off the fix up thread so Hitman bono would finally stop harrassing me over the years about where the fix up thread "belongs"

Chicago I've always liked you as a mod even though we've had little to no interactions, but I respectfully have to say that this was a bad move. Sometimes what seems like the "right" decision (you're modding a figure so it should be a sub-board in a custom board...based on webster's definition no less!) isn't always the best decision (where your primary traffic occurs and thus maximum exposure for the artist). I was one of the first guys "fixing-up" and posting on the fix-up thread with @zombieapocalypse, PJ, Dean, and others and I loved the idea of a "fix-up" thread. Painting and sculpting are amazing skills, but having an eye for parts choices is also an art that is extremely under-appreciated. We were able to fix-up figures of wrestlers we'll never get (like Barbarian and Benoit) with a few clever parts switches. Personally I always thought THAT was more creative and resourceful than sculpting green putty here and there. Customizers weren't getting the glorification they needed so they started to bitch, they then started to post in the fix-up thread for reactions. At first I hated the idea of combining the two but we're a cool bunch, I grew to appreciate some awesome customizers like Axe, chargrove etc. And it was on a sub board of the most frequented board on the forums. What was so bad about that? Now you've made what you think is the "right" decision - sorry - experiment. But is it really the best idea that will benefit the majority? I really hope the majority of us boycott the move - let the customs board die for those egotistical few, I'm certainly not going to bother checking out Hitman Bono 's work.

Shouldnt it be up to the people who actually post Fix ups about where the thread should be ?
Its the Fix up people who made that one thread get over a million views is it not?

It should tell you it was a troll job when the person who's made it their goal (for 4 freaking years) to move the Fix up thread to the Customs board.....doesnt even do customs or fix ups.

If anything, it's made me realize how much traffic is brought here because of that thread. As much as I thought I was thinking for the board, I realize now that it was an impulsive decision. That is ideally what I'm looking to take away from this discussion. I may have took the ass-backwards approach, and I acknowledge that, but it is an education for me and I greatly value the input of regulars such as yourself.

As WWE is slowly getting less popular, the toys are less interesting as Mattel started, and the board is less lively as once upon a time, the fix up thread was one of the few places I'd look at when I'd check the boards. Moving it gives me one less reason to visit the board. Lazy or whatever, I'm not clicking through a bunch of subthreads to find fixups. Maybe I'm just burned out with current wrestling so it is clouding my perception of the board, but it's rather uninteresting to me lately. The fix up thread is dead. Long live the fix up thread

After scrolling through some of these essays you would of thought something serious happened. Plenty of douchebag and dbag replies in this thread, go after another one.

This just seems silly to me. The Mattel board easily gets the most traffic on this site, and the fix-up thread has been a staple of that board since 2011. It should still be there.

I am having trouble understanding why those that are upset are. All Chicago did was move a Custom related thread into the Custom forum for better organization. It hasn't been deleted, locked, banned, just moved. From the main page of this site, it's the same effort to get to the thread just in a different forum that is more related to the thread purpose. Some are saying it is because it's going into a forum with no action. I don't think that matters, Mattel isn't the only section of this site, I think the busiest place on here is the Banter board and that's a thread within a subforum of a forum, or the weekly WWE show or PPV show threads. I believe it's not that it's going to a place with no action that will kill it, just the fact that it's not as popular as it once was. Food for thought: Is it because it's a change and you don't like it? I understand that the Fix-Up thread was related to Mattel figures, but the Customs forum has threads using Mattel figures, why is it OK for those threads to be there but not the fix up? As shown in my earlier post the definition of customize contains the mention of alter which is what a fix-up is. We are all guilty of jumping on someone to point when a suggestion should be in the Suggestion Box, or if someone posts a thread about what they bought without pictures because these don't belong in the main Mattel forum, but this little change has brought such misdirected anger, why? Thanks.
