Good day!
I am going to be attending the Big Event in NY and I will be getting some autographs from my favorite 80's era stars.
I need some advice. I only collect LJN stuff from the 80s and I have a few WWF Magazines. I will be bringing some of my MOC thumbs and 8" figures for autographs.
Unfortunately, I do NOT have the 80s era MOC figures for Haku and King Kong Bundy, who will be at the show.
What should I do? What should they sign? Here are my options:
1. The loose LJN figures
2. The posters that came with the figures
3. A magazine back featuring the LJN toys order forms and advertisement
4. A WWF Magazine that has about 12 superstars on the front that I will be getting signed by about 6 guys who are on the cover, BUT Haku and Bundy are NOT shown.
The downsides are:
1. Not as cool looking as MOC
2. I don't have the posters on display, they're just in a folder right now so I'd have to figure out a display for them... PLUS, I don't have any other posters autographed and I've already met like 7 guys that COULD have signed their poster, if I had thought of it back when I met them.
3. Same situation as #2
4. They aren't on the magazine cover, so it seems odd to get them to sign it.
All advice welcome. Thanks in advance

Loose Signed figures look awful, definitely don't do that option.
Cannot you find some King Kong Bundy or Haku MOC online before you go??? even if not LJN's

Cannot you find some King Kong Bundy or Haku MOC online before you go??? even if not LJN's Considering I only have LJN 8" and Thumbs from the 80s in my collection, any other figure would look pretty dumb with them. I don't think that's a good option Go with the posters. They look cool signed. Ya, that was one of my first thoughts. But then I got sad/mad that I've already met like 6 guys and didn't get the posters signed (because I got the figures signed). So instead of having like 17 posters signed, I will have 2 (or if I bring others, about 8... but still not the 17 I could have gotten signed over time)

Yeah whatever you do don't get the actual loose figures signed. I have no idea what some people do that, looks ridiculous. Honestly I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you have something you can grab online MOC for a decent price on ebay (like Bundy's Mattel figure isn't that much, etc.), that's an option. (I actually have a second one MOC available, though that's not the reason for my reply here.) If you get a figure MOC signed be sure to get a sharpie paint pen and prep it beforehand. They look 1,000 times better than a normal marker on a figure.
If you don't have anything special all the wrestlers will have 8 x 10's available. I've gone to my fair share of conventions, etc., last year I got some Mattel figs autographed and Mean Gene was also there and I didn't have anything for him so I got an 8 X 10 auto and to my surprise is looks really, really great. At all the ROH/NJPW shows I've gone to I've just got their 8 x 10's autographed and have a nice little collection of those. No need to force it if you can't think of something that you would like better.
Edit: Reading your responses to the LJN posters if you're not feeling it don't do it, especially if it will bug you that you didn't get previous ones signed. I've got a bunch of LJN posters and honestly I think as far as looks go a nice 8 x 10 glossy photo would look way better than the LJN poster autographed, but that's just my opinion.

I think my biggest problem is that I want to keep my collection "authentic." In the sense that I only want 80's LJN stuff and the vintage stuff and the magazines on display I already have. I don't want to add anything "new" that looks out of place or start in on something that I don't have already (like 8x10s or other things that are commonly found at conventions). At least with the 4 options I've presented, they tie into my currently display and collectoin

Ie be shopping for MOC figures, or if that's not viable I'd go with the poster idea. Sure you missed out on some others, but this is a good start for the future.

Ya, I am keeping an eye out for Bunday (and there are a couple available now) but I'm not going to overpay just because I feel pressure to buy. Haku MOC is a no go for me... as that LJN price would be insane, especially with conversion from Canada to US funds

Signed loose figures just look awkward... Now, I realise a MOC LJN Haku costs an arm and a leg so I'd try to find a magazine with King Haku.

go for the posters!
i myself could have gotten soo many more of my posters signed but have saved my money for other things... usually only get one item signed by the people when i go to events... i should go count how many LJN posters I COULD have signed vs. actually have signed
