I'm not trying to stir up anything towards Mattel but that IYH HBK is poorly done. Now don't get me wrong Ringside fest was very impressive with their reveals but as for HBK alone I'm forcing myself to like it since we've been anticipating this version. That scan is 1 of the worst scans they can use too. If they didnt want to mold a new head, at least plant the correct hair mold on the Wrestlemania 14 Elite sculpt and work on that 5 o'clock shadow he had that night. Another thing that bugs me is the lack of detail on his tights. The X's wasn't a solid green, it blended into a blue-ish color. That's all I really have a problem with. Other than that I thank Bill and the rest of MDT for finally putting this one out. I just imagined Mattel doing much better..... and I know they can. Other than the obvious lack of articulation and size, JAKKS somewhat did it better. I'd post pics but not sure how.

I like it but I wish they'd use a better headsculpt. I also don't get why they skimp out on knee pads for his figures.
Anyway. I'll buy it but I'll swap the head out or at the very least paint some stubble on his face.
I'm honestly more bothered by them using laced boots on another Ministry Taker.

They work with what they have. And I will never understand the hate for that scan. That and the WM 30 elite are top notch. Something like the blue in his tights can easily be overlooked considering what Jakks put us through towards the end. I say MattelDesignTeam did a damn good job considering they never had to make the figure to begin with. Personally that is my least favorite attire he wore but I understand that there is a market for it. His best attire back when he wore tights is and always will be his Mind Games look. Of course, its all subjective. |

I'm not an Hbk fan aside from his run with sensational Sherri.. but I think the IYH figure looks great. Now i realize I'm not judging its accuracy because I have very little frame of reference but it'll be a hard one for me to pass on and I have had myself convinced I won't buy any more Hbk.

Is it just me or has there been a total disregard by Mattel for 1993-1994 HBK attires?
They did the red/white debut HBK attire which is from 1992 and I even remember a figure based on his look at the 1995 Royal Rumble. Those two years in between haven't gotten any love in figure form yet which is kind of surprising since Shawn had some really iconic looks during that time.
The good old days when Shawn was riding with Diesel and Razor, got kinda chunky and for some reason spent more time hosting the Heartbreak Hotel than he did in the ring. I first started watching wrestling with that Shawn. 💔

I didn’t even notice the missing paint detail on the X’s. The headsculpt is some what disappointing, but not a deal breaker for me. I wish it came with knee pads.

If people are going to complain about a color missing, at least know what color you are bitching about.
I’m sure you had to google this attire to find something you weren’t happy about.
Figure looks great. Happy we are finally getting it

Its 98% nonsense and yeah he never admitted to the roids...but I believe he was hitting the anabolics. Of course Nash is gonna be on his side because its Nash. I'm not crapping on the guy because HBK is in my top 3. But even I can't deny the dude ballooned up during that time frame. Now I want beer and waffles. |

I agree, exclusive figures should feel exclusive. If I’m paying $7 more than your average elite we should atleast getting a new scan. Miss the days of Jakks when most of the time there exclusives had a one of a kind headscan.

I don't mind the head being reused but the missing blue on the X's is what disappoints me.

Figure looks great. Happy we are finally getting it You know, I'm not really one to go back n fourth with this stuff, I mainly want an open discussion but I will go ahead and say  you dude. Lol if you're going to bitch about my "bitching" at least finish reading. I have the jakks version and it is this blue-ish color I mentioned. And yes as soon as I seen the exclusive I started to nit pick at an attire that's actually engraved into my brain since I've watch that match against Shamrock countless of times. Anyways, MDT is taking their sweet time with HBK. Many iconic attires that we're still waiting on, just glad that DX IYH finally gets a release. |

My only real gripe is them reusing that head scan, its a 5 year old mold and it was eh to begin with. With RSCE we usually at the very least get a new unique head scan

Some of the best Mattel RSE are the ones that had an exclusive scan long before it was released again for retail. RSE smiling Stone Cold, ponytail Kevin Nash, Cactus Jack to name a few. |

yeh...the head choice really bogs the figure down. Even Jakks got that right.
But its almost fixable if u slap one of those current basic HBK heads on it...if u can find one of the few they made with stubble.

Agreed that the WM14 head with some well-painted stubble (even without a new ponytail) would've been better than the E19 head.
Hell, I wouldn't have minded if they scrapped the inaccurate chaps for some more detailed logos and knee pads.
I LOVE that vest, though.

I'm not big on that head, but at least it isn't the awful square one they used for Network spotlight. I mentioned this in another thread, but I did a paint wash effect using dry yellow and tan colors to give the hair texture, and the head looks a lot better that way over the flat dark brown. Put a light beard on it, and I think it'll look pretty good. I'm with you on the lack of the blue-ish color on the Xs. The heart detail alone with the green soundwave/grid is super detailed, so I'm giving them a pass on that one. Entrance top is freakin' killer, too. I really like how it turned out despite some of the flaws.
