Does anyone else get a weird vibe about this match? It seems like it was an audible that was not planned to happen for a while. Was it to bolster sagging ticket sales in the UK? Is it to get the title off Mahal prior to Survivor Series, and then have Mahal regain it for India? Something just seems odd seeing as they've either postponed or scrapped the Rusev qualifying match.
Maybe someone failed something? Just seems hastily thrown together. Yes, I know there was a storyline brewing, but why wait until Thursday to announce the match? Why not go through with the Rusev match and then have AJ face Mahal the following week. If it's to build up Mahal, why not do it the week before Survivor Series? Maybe I'm thinking too much into it but it just seems weird to put this match on all of a sudden.
I guess the good news for WWE is that it has people talking about it. But most are already thinking this is either the start of the Raw retaliation or that Jinder is clearly going over. But the former begs the question: why not just wait to set up the match properly in the following week and then have the raw team invade then during the final SDL?

The timing of this is weird, and it seems to coincide with Smackdown receiving one of its lowest ratings in a while. Don't forget, WWE will be (or is already) negotiating their new TV deal, and it won't be surprising to see Vince hotshot some angles in the coming months to try to give ratings a push. The TV deal is the single most important factor in this company's success going forward.
UK TV almost always sees ratings drops because it's pre-taped, so they want to create some buzz here. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they put the title on AJ, and then swap it back again before Survivor Series.

Should play out like his old 2003-04 feud with Abyss in TNA. Brock dominating, but AJ using his speed to get in a lot of high risk offense. If Brock put the effort in, an AJ/Lesnar match has serious potential. I would think like Brock and Rollins--like Rollins, I see AJ flipping out of a lot of suplexes. It has the potential to be amazing and the fact they're teasing us with the Jinder title match with AJ is so annoying. They're literally hanging the carrot on a piece of string. I want it so much to happen, bit deep down I know we're getting Brock vs.. What was it, the beast conquerer?

This is like the Daniel Bryan Roman Reigns thing from years ago. If Daniel wins, he gets the shot, fans were hopeful, and instead he helps put over Roman.

Hopefully they're giving AJ the title because Jinder violated the wellness policy and will be suspended until India.

It was the dark main event before. The same match has been advertised for Smackdown virtually every week for the last month (they haven't delivered it, for what it's worth.) This is totally different.

Maybe were just reading into this too much. I DK.
All I know is, if it was just a ratings grab, they could do shinsuke or Orton against Jinder. For the WWE to make a change to current programming, there would need to be some sort of event. I heard rumors of Jinder failing a drug test but the source deleted his page shortly after posting it.
Something just strikes me odd about the whole thing.

There's no way Jinder can't be on the juice!

Anyone think they will actually put the title on AJ? Too many intangibles. I want it. But WWE don't want none.

Anyone think they will actually put the title on AJ? I never thought they'd let him win it the first time. So... I'd love to be happily surprised! The possibility at least has me excited for SD, just as his late match versus Finn got me up for TLC.. AJ would certainly fly around and bump to make a Brock match good. And he has enough credibility to get in some strikes, à la HBK versus a bigger men.

The sudden out of the blue WWE title match seems fishy to me especially after they already had a different match planned for AJ.
I'm not getting my hopes up because that dream ends with AJ winning the belt back on SD and I don't want to be let down like that.
