Omega? Check. Match in Japan? Check. Dave Meltzer to give it 5 star rating? TBD If the match happens in Japan: 7 stars Exact same match in WWE: 3 1/2 stars I mean, I know people love to joke about Meltzer's match ratings in Japan, but people do realize that two things he also factors into the ratings are the build and atmosphere of the match, right? And those are two things that NJPW far excels at over WWE. Which is also part of the reason Cena/Punk at MITB received 5 stars, and IIRC, is the last WWE match to do so.

He didn't give either Taker-HBK WrestleMania match 5 stars. He must not take build and atmosphere into THAT much consideration.

IIRC, his reasoning for the first was the botched dive spot took him out of the match. In any case, it's all one person's opinion, and he's never said that his ratings are fact or some golden rule. I think the people who read them take them far more seriously than he does.

He made a name for himself and then made it his mission to wrestle everyone else who has a name too. Plus the fact that he keeps record of who he has faced is a cool little thing. When he retires he will have a hell of a list to hang his hat on. Huh, you got me thinking now. I wonder what the biggest names that he hasn't faced (and legitimately could have) are? Sting and Warrior? I think he's faced everyone else. Savage and Vader? I’d say names like Andre and Harley but they were done by the time he started.

As a WWE fan I’m p*ssed off by this, as a Chris Jericho fan I’m excited. Jericho can no longer say that he is a WWE-loyalist but with this I don’t care because the Tokyo Dome Show is the only NJPW show I’ve watched since Styles/Nakamura. It would be amazing to hear Jericho walk down the aisle to “break the walls down” but it won’t be happening, regardless, people should just appreciate this for what it is. Rumours are that Jericho wanted him vs Omega to get a McCregor/Mayweather reaction and it kind of did. I can’t wait to see them go at it tbh.

The only way t would get that reaction is if it were Cena v. Omega. Jericho is a legend and highly mainstream, but not anywhere near the level of Mayweather buzz.

I know Jericho's gonna enter to Judas, but good god I hope he enters to this.

The more I read about this, it just seems like Jericho giving WWE a middle finger for not working with him on the cruise. I can't say I blame him either. To be in talks to use NXT for 3 months, and then being told no by 3 random suits, probably was a massive sign of disrespect to Jericho.
The whole thing is awesome though. The little feud between Jericho/WWE and then Chris jumping to NJPW reminds me of the AE. Angle returns in ring, Jericho goes to NJPW......could a CM Punk return to wrestling be next?

I’ll definitely check it out, but Jericho matches haven’t been too great the last few years. If he didn’t have a classic with Styles, who is a better wrestler than Omega, then my hopes won’t be super high.

Reading this made me realize just how many people Jericho has wrestled in his 25+ year career. From Hulk Hogan to now Kenny Omega and everyone else in between. It's insane. He made a name for himself and then made it his mission to wrestle everyone else who has a name too. Plus the fact that he keeps record of who he has faced is a cool little thing. When he retires he will have a hell of a list to hang his hat on.I couldn't help myself

I would love to see Jericho walk down the ramp to his WWE theme. I loved the last two wrestlekingdom main events. This one could go down in history.

I'm hoping he uses his original WCW theme
