War Games or Survivor Series as our PPV to watch? Or do you want War Games for the first half and Survivor Series for the second? And if so do you want to watch the first one of each or is there another year of each that you want to watch?

Survivor Series!
1987 - 1991 are good options.

The 20 year anniversary of the Montreal Screwjob is only a few days away. Pretty significant anniversary if you ask me.

Gotta say the post survivor series up to 91, maybe 92 although not really a proper survivor card. I always watch the 89 show for nostalgia as it was my first survivor series I saw. War games is a good call but I associate this time of year with the 93 onwards ones that were when it was going downhill.

More than one SS this month?
I can't choose between 1987, 1991,1992, or 1997

I am going to ask marino13 to take over for this one, because my father-in-law is back in the hospital with at the very least pneumonia that has turned septic. So I am not going to have the time to watch anything this month.

Let's go with the first Survivor Series. That team of Savage, Steamboat, Roberts, Beefcake, & Hacksaw is still one of my all time favorite teams.

I really like Survivor Series '87. I think out of them all, the 1987 one is always going to be my favourite.
I would rent it religiously when I was a kid. So I watched it so many times, yet I can never get tired of it.
I remember thinking how awesome the team of Savage, Steamboat, Roberts, Beefcake and Duggan were together.
I also thought it was strange that Steamboat would be friends with Savage and Roberts after the horrible things they did to him in the past two years.
I was mad when Beefcake got eliminated since he was my favourite back then.
The women's match was good. I didn't appreciate it until I was older though. I used to hate watching it when I was a kid.
The tag team elimination was awesome! So many tag teams at the time for the WWE.
I hated how Strike Force got eliminated so fast for being Tag Champions. Same with the Hart Foundation on the other side for being former Tag Champions.
I remember always wondering what happened to the British Bulldogs?? In the CHV version of this event, they edit out the Bulldogs getting eliminated. It wasn't until years later when I got the PPV version in a tape trade that I seen it.
I hated that the Young Stallions and the Killer Bees won. Out of all the good guy tag teams they were my least favourite.
The main event was fun.
Bam Bam Bigelow was made to be the next big thing that night. With how he eliminated Bundy and Gang on his own.
Clearly this PPV was made to have more tension between Hogan and Andre and to give Andre a big win.
I think it was the only time back then when a heel was the victor at the end of the show.
But overall, I really do like this event!

PJ Hopefully he makes a full recovery. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Not looking good right now. He has been delirious and hallucinating in he hospital the past couple days. Turns out he has carbon monoxide building up in his system so his oxygen level are low and his breathing isn't working correctly. They discovered he has sleep apnea and have now given him an oxygen mask. Which I guess will now have to be permanent? Because we got a call today saying oxygen tanks will be delivered to the house today, but he isn't expected to be released from the hospital for a few days yet.

My father had to use the oxygen mask few years back when he had a heart attack and also had fluid in his lungs. The month he spent in the hospital he had to wear it but when he came home his breathing improved to where he didn't have to wear it no more.
Continued thoughts and prayers. All the best.

Looking back, Honky Tonk's team never stood a chance. Savage's team is easily one of the most stacked teams of all time.
The women's match wasn't very good.
Tag match was a beautiful disaster. Probably the biggest win of the Stallions careers.
At the time of this event, I don't know how Patera made it into this match.
Also blows my mind that Hogan didn't win this single-handedly. Gave Andre back a lil of his credibility.
Overall this was a fun show. I loved watching it over and over and over as a kid. As an adult, this was one of the first things I watched when we got the Network.

Thanks. He actually turned a corner and if he continues he will be moved to a rehab hospital a block away from our house on Monday. And then home later in the week.

My review of SSeries 87 ( I still have the original airing of this in my collection)
Team Savage vs Team Honky Tonk Man- As marino13 said Savage's team was stacked. Definitely one of the best in the events history. Fun opener overall with a hot crowd. Can't beat those 80s crowds. Honky bows out so your Survivors: Macho Man, Jake the Snake and Ricky Steamboat
Team Moolah vs Team Sensational Sherri- Those Jumping Bomb Angels were great. Definite highlight of this match for me. Survivors: Jumping Bomb Angels
Team Strike Force vs Team Hart Foundation- So many classic teams in this match!! it's 40 minutes long but man if you love tag team wrestling me like me you'll love this match. Good stuff all around. Survivors- Killer Bees and Young Stallions
Team Hogan vs Team Andre- I love how they kept Hogan/Andre apart since WM 3. That made the anticipation for this match off the charts. Good main event here as a lot of the spotlight went on Bigelow as he was relatively new at the time. Him almost pulling it out in the end was great storytelling at it's best. Shame his 1st run wasn't more meaningful as he was white hot as a babyface.Survivor: Andre The Giant
Overall I highly recommend this show. All 4 matches are solid overall and you got Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura on commentary. It don't get better than that.

What do you guys think was better this show or starcade 87? Both happened on the same day. This Sunday is the 30 year anniversary of both shows and I plan on watching them back to back.

I didn't mind Starrcade that year but IMO WWF wins this one.

I take it you were more of a WWF than NWA guy in the 80s?

Thanks. He actually turned a corner and if he continues he will be moved to a rehab hospital a block away from our house on Monday. And then home later in the week. So he is back at the original hospital, because his left side was much weaker than his right which shouldn't have been so they sent him back there to have more tests done. Turns out when he fell there last week he started bleeding on the brain so they did an emergency surgery to remove the clot and release the pressure. The doctor said it went well, but he had to make larger hole because it was more like a jello instead of a liquid. He also had to leave a drain in to hopefully get the outer areas that he couldn't get. It's now 1am and we just got home. Hopefully this is the last of it and he starts to recover now. It has been a very stressful 2 or 3 weeks now. Anyway Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
