So I got bored and thought of something fun. I went and compiled a list of every single character to ever make an appearance in WWE. Cagematch.net has a list of appearances per year and I consolidated that information for the years of 1985-Now (Wrestlemania Era). I then sorted that list by most appearances and started checking off every character that has had a figure made of them by Mattel. To Their credit they have produced a ton, including all of the top 25. I also differentiated characters like Viscera and Mabel would be separate. Here is the list of the Top 100 characters never made by Mattel in order of # of appearances in WWE:
Test Owen Hart Chris Benoit Greg Valentine Hardcore Holly Funaki Koko B. Ware Jeff Jarrett Steve Blackman Hercules Al Snow Brooklyn Brawler Tajiri Dino Bravo Charlie Haas Paul Roma Haku Albert Jim Powers Spike Dudley Barry Horowitz Victoria Jim Brunzell Crash Iron Mike Sharpe Barbarian Bart Gunn Brian Kendrick Perry Saturn Lanny Poffo Paul London Chuck Palumbo Lance Storm Molly Holly Jacqueline Savio Vega Billy Kidman Ivory Dynamite Kid Steven Richards Smoking Gunns Rougeau Brothers Viscera SD Jones Grandmaster Sexay Steve Lombardi Gangrel Raven Magnificent Muraco Taka Michinoku Boris Zhukov Nunzio Bull Buchanan Bob Holly Bad News Brown Lance Cade Head Bangers Headshrinkers Justin Credible Trevor Murdoch Marc Mero Mideon Bob Backlund El Matador Shannon Moore Scott Steiner Adam Bomb Rosey Maven Moondog Spot Snitsky Mark Jindrak Super Crazy Tazz Orlando Jordan Godwinns Ron Bass Killer Bees Gail Kim Torrie Wilson Skinner Ken Patera Eugene Doug Basham Mike Rotundo Terry Gibbs Kato Disciples Of Apocalypse Beverly Brothers Jimmy Wang Yang Adrian Adonis Scott Taylor Angelo Dawkins Mabel Pedro Morales Beverly Brothers Tiger Chung Lee Essa Rios La Resistance Colin Cassady Mr. Kennedy Rico
The first one that sticks out is Test. Didn't realize the guy was around so long and appeared so many times. This is only scratching the surface of course, and most of these people don't even deserve a figure made of them quite honestly but I thought it would be fun to see what characters are left. My list has almost 5000 different characters and like 1000 of those had one off appearances or are a rare gimmick of a different wrestler. This also explains the demand for someone like Greg Valentine. They guy is ranked 36th all time in WWE history in terms of # of appearances.

It would be interesting if you added WCW and ECW to that list, as I'd think there are guys like Ultimo Dragon, Psychosis, Alex Wright, Sandman, and more that would make the cut.

That was a fair amount of work.
The ones that stand out to me (that I want first, and haven't been made) are as follows:
Greg Valentine Koko B Ware Hercules Brooklyn Brawler Dino Bravo Haku Powers/Roma (Battle Pack is fine) Don Muraco Brunzell/Blair (Again, Battle Pack) S.D Jones Rougeaus (Battle Pack it up) Ken Patera Boris Zhukov Lanny Poffo Iron Mike Sharpe Skinner Pedro Morales El Matador Bad News Brown Moondogs (I guess we need a Battle Pack Legends Line lol)
Now that I look at it, this list kinda sounds like all of my other lists.

I do plan on doing WCW and maybe ECW. It's mostly for my own reference but I figured it would be fun to share. Then I should probably go before 1985 to cover some of the older guys.

You have a list of 100 wrestlers that includes names Doug Basham and Scott Taylor but not all time greats like Harley Race or Billy Graham?

I'd hate to see the day Mattel gets desperate enough to make a Flashback Rico figure.
Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. Why not just make a Flashback Ricky Ortiz.

It's a WWE from 1985-now...But Harley Race is supposed to be on that list. For some reason I thought that Mattel made him but that was Jakks. So I'd have to add Harley Race to that list. He would be between Pedro Morales and Mabel in terms of appearances made.

He wrestled for a short period of time in 1986 before needing hip surgery then came back as a manager and commentator.

Why do people even bother listing Benoit It was purely a statistical list, not a wish list or opinion list. Obviously Benoit will never be made and if people are really desperate to have one just get a Jakks one.

I bought two different versions of his Jakks figures, but I would love a Mattel one of him. Like I said though this is purely a statistical list. Not my personal wish list or anything. I just thought it would be fun to see which characters in WWE history have made the most appearances without getting a figure made of them. Like Test, he obviously isn't an all time great or anything but he was a part of the WWE for a long time.

Very cool list. Thanks for doing the legwork. This is a perfect illustration of just how far Mattel has dug into the roster. Pretty impressive all things considered, even though I know some are more up in arms over who hasn't been made.
