I decided to preorder the Battle Cat vs Roton and Panthor at Point Dread sets. I was really hoping to catch them in stock at Amazon, but they don't even have a listing right now for the Battle Cat set, and the Panthor set has some insane price and a December ship date on there, so I wanted to make sure I get them.
I have no idea when they'll actually arrive there for shipping, so it might be a while before I see them, but as long as I get them it's cool. The recent run on everything action figure-related made me do it. I don't trust anymore I can find them in store or online. It's a crazy time.

I don't expect retail to be good, but maybe online it will get better. Still, a lot must have to do with popularity, which is only increasing with Mattel's commitment to the line. |

Sorry to post twice in a row, but I finished Castle Grayskull this weekend. I'd said when I got it that it would take me a year, but it was more like 9 months.  Really it was only a week or so of work, done a few hours at a time when I could get to it. Anyway, it's really great and makes me want a Snake Mountain (and Fright Zone, and maybe an Eternia Palace and Eternia Playset) even though I was relieved to be done when I put on that last brick. |

My Battle Cat set is now setting in my pile of loot, but I'd really like to wait till Panthor is there, too. I'll give it a little while, but I'd really like to get that Battle Armor He-Man. Hopefully he's as good as he looks in pictures. I've got an extra Power Sword and shield I can put on him to deck him out cause I think he only has the Battle Axe.

I've only bought a few Halo figures, but I was at Dollar General the other day and grabbed a couple Halo blind bag figures just for the heck of it at checkout. I ended up getting the two I wanted (Spartan soldier in teal and black and Spartan in silver, blue, and black, which is apparently 'rare'). The rest in the series were boring, so my gamble paid off. Maybe I should have bought a lottery ticket instead of using up my luck on MC figs.  |

I finally saw some at Wal-Mart this morning. Roton & Battle Cat, Panthro & Point Dread. Plus a small display with Faker, Teela, Stinkor, Fisto & a He Man/Beast man 2 pack.

These are very hit and miss as I collect the MOTU series. Found the newest sets with battle cat and panther and the he man beast man 2 pack but have not come across the new single pack series figures yet. They usually show up in a few waves though so I should eventually come across these.

I have my preorders for Roton and the wave 3 singles on the way. They should be here today actually. I haven't picked up the Point Dread pack yet but it's available online finally.
I agree it's hit and miss at retail. My Walmart usually gets a couple separate shipments of the singles, but I haven't seen wave 3. They had a ton of the Roton pack recently. Maybe 10 or more. Almost seemed like too many.

I got my new figures today and they're pretty great overall. Stinkor and Mer-Man are outstanding, and BA He-Man, Fisto, and Faker aren't far behind. Battle Cat is awesome and awesome to have. He's a key part of any MOTU collection. Only small gripes are Roton is small (but cool), Evil-Lyn and Teela are just plain repaints, and Stinkor and Faker's orange is too yellow and not orange enough like the vintage figures. I'm still waiting on Big Bad to fulfill my preorder of the new minifigs wave. I got mine from them, but I ordered a while back and think it was for their first batch because it came in a couple weeks ago. Mine stayed in my Pile of Loot for a bit before I had them ship it because I was hoping they'd get Point Dread, which they still don't. They're pretty good about fulfilling orders, even if it takes them a bit. It sure takes patience waiting for them, though. |

I have my doubts about too many Walmarts making shelf space for those Skeletor heads, but we'll see. Hopefully they're not too hard to find. I saw today that my Walmart put the Point Dread set on clearance. Maybe they're trying to make room for the new stuff. |

While looking for other MC stuff, I found these prototypes that are apparently without a place in the MOTU line yet. They look good. If you go to the post and look at the specific thread, there are other images posted with more figures. |
