Hi Guys,
Been very nostalgic recently watching old LOD matches in WWF. They were sooooo damn over in the early 1990s, almost main event status in their own right. The Road Warrior from the NWA period were badass too, nobody wanted to cross their paths for sure! Throughout the years, they have been rebranded, repackaged and also paired up with others to maintain the legacy (e.g. Hawk and Sasaki & Animal and Heidenreich).
What was your favourite incarnation of the legendary team?
Your thoughts?

Definitely NWA. Loved their squash matches where they would just come in and beat the jobbers in literally like 15/20 seconds.

NWA for me. The only version of the Road Warriors I didn't care for was LoD 2000. And anything that wasn't just Hawk and Animal doesn't even register as part of the Road Warriors/LOD to me.

Even though it wasn’t my favorite 95-96 WCW should be on there. They had some entertaining matches with the Steiners, Sting/Luger, Nasty Boys, I think they even wrestle the Public Enemy a few times.

I went with the WWF LOD days from 1990 - 1992.
I had them as Hasbros and I have them as Mattels. So to me, they were the ones I remember the most when I think of LOD.

Ellering, Hawk, and Animal in the early to mid 80's. Nothing could stop them......until a puppet became involved!

Very hard to choose but I went with wwf as that's where I first saw them. However now looking back I'd say nwa as they were beyond awesome in the 80s I also agree the 95 96 wcw run was good for a marquee match point of view even if they weren't 5 star matches, shame we never had them v the outsiders. It was also funny to see them look kinda small against the Harlem heat

Because I started watching in real time in 1991, I voted WWF LOD. Winning the titles at MSG was a great moment for them.

NJPW for me because i hated Animal but loved Hawk and really liked Sasaki. I was really hoping that Hawk would have stayed as a singles competitor in WCW. They did have some great matches in 96 though.

NWA & WWF are the only correct answers. AWA...well nobody watched AWA...and everything else just isnt the Road Warriors.

It's no doubt my favourite Road Warriors was their NWA-era. I think that's where the "road warrior pop" originated to be honest. Great look and great tag team that deserves ever bit of accolades they get when the history of professional wrestling is written.
I love what Ellering is doing with the AOP and I try my best not to compare them to Hawk & Animal. I wish Animal would play a mentor role and give a future tag team a rub too.
Road Warriors/LOD have an envious legacy

I haven’t seen enough of their awa work to comment on that, but their nwa work was awesome - running through jobbers and being the most dominant tag team in the history of pro wrestling.

NWA for me.
I loved their look and most of their opponents in NWA. BUT WWF was where I actually seen them first. We really didn't get NWA stuff in Ireland & I only seen them in PWI magazine.....I remember on Superstars when their debut was advertised I was the only one in school who knew they were a big deal.
Also above there was a point made that their popularity was ME level....yes...yes it was. Just like Demolition before them? only Hogan & Warrior were as popular.
