Credit: www.thesun.co.uk/sport/5195094/wwe-news-kalisto-injured-bottle-attack/The high-flying star was smashed in the face by a full water bottle during the 205 Live show on Tuesday night. The shocking incident occurred when Kalisto, aged 31 and real name Emanuel Alejandro Rodriguez, was teaming with Gran Metalik in their DQ victory over Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher. Former Cruiserweight champ Kalisto was laying outside the ring after being attacked post-match when a bottle thrown from the crowd bounced off the floor and smack bang into his face. His wife, Abigail Rodriguez, posted an update on his status last night and shared a photo of her partner's injured lip. She wrote: "To the idiots who harmed my husband, the way you assaulted my husband was disgusting to say the least."Your actions caused harm and medical intervention was needed. "Second, I am in disbelief with those that think it's OK to ridicule (poke fun of) someone who lives their life to entertain others. "If it was you in the situation, you wouldn't be laughing now would you?! "What a way to spend our holidays! Stitches, MRI, and possible fracture, we don't know."

Totally uncalled for. Hopefully, they caught the jackass who did this and they'll face legal action.

Wrestling fans at shows just get more stupid as time goes on it seems.
I think the reason why it never happened as often in the 80s and early 90s is because a wrestler would go after a fan if the fan attacked the wrestler. With the 'PG policy' now, wrestlers almost have to take the abuse because it looks badly on the WWE if one of their own fought back against the fan.

These performers travel all over the world and entertain the fans, the least we can do is respect them. Whoever deliberately threw the bottle at Kalisto should be banned from attending future events; the person responsible should also submit an apology as well. Classless.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour! I am appalled that someone thought themselves justified in throwing a dangerous object at a performer, who is risking their health to entertain the fans night in and night out. I really hope the scumbag who threw the water bottle is brought to justice, in the most severe way possible.

No, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. an apology.

I was there live and saw the bottle hit but couldn't see where it came from. Someone on Facebook said security got the guy and he was arrested. Hope they got him.
I'm also annoyed by all the people making fun of the situation on Facebook.

Damn hopefully the water bottle is fine. I've checked for a status update on the water bottle on WWE.com: The water bottle underwent successful surgery Tuesday night to repair a high-grade dent injury, WWE.com can confirm.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Dugas in Birmingham, Ala., and took around 10 minutes.
“The bottle was dented in areas where it attaches to the bottlecap, called the "bottlecap region,” Dr. Dugas told WWE.com. “The bottle basically is dented about 50 percent of the way down from the top. So yesterday we repaired that back down to the area where it initially made impact with Kallisto's nose. The surgery was very straightforward; we removed all of the extra nose tissue — all of that extra swollen stuff stuck around the bottle when it hit the nose.”
X-rays of the bottle came back negative, as did a CT scan of its head. Ultimately, the bottle was diagnosed with high impact plastic strains and mid-region contusions. Dugas added the bottle has begun physical therapy, starting with light range-of-motion exercises, and is expecting to leave Birmingham later today via a dedicated courier.
It is unknown at this time how long the bottle will be out of action.
Stay with WWE.com as more details on the bottle's condition become available.

Stone Cold did get hit in the head by a beer can at No Way Out 2001, and he was back on Raw the next day. Was this a loaded water bottle full of cement?

Totally uncalled for especially to a face but its not like its never happened before unfortunately. Was such an everyday occurance in the 90's during the Monday night wars and I'm sure WCW encouraged it!
