Especially since they started planting the seeds for Joe/Cena, probably at WrestleMania. Bright side, Joe probably won’t be putting Cena over at WrestleMania. He’s not an angry teen online, he’s a professional. I don’t think he’s sitting there thinking “yay I don’t have to lose a match now!” This! Losing is part of the business. Unless they’re unprofessional, the actual wrestlers have no problem with losing matches.

I just hope he's back in time to work a relevant program at Mania. He's one of my favorite parts of the show, if not my very favorite part of the show, virtually every week. I actually think this helps him kayfabe get a spot in the Elimination Chamber. He can easily say his opportunity to main event WrestleMania was taken from him by not being able to compete in the Rumble. So again, here is hoping the timeline works out. I think Joe vs Cena at Mania would be off the charts. if anything this era needs to be known as the injury era lol I think this is one of the problems with the modern style as the injuries seem way more frequent that they used to. which I find ironic considering all the safety measures in place now and restriction on moves etc anyway hope he recovers soon. he deserves a push I remember guys being hurt all of the time from the mid 90s and well into the 2000s. Major injuries to guys like Austin, HBK, Triple H, Nash... Austin and Bret Hart had to retire from wrestling. Droz was paralyzed for life in 1999. Let us not forget Sid's horrific leg break, putting his softball career into jeopardy, or Brock snapping Hardcore Holly's neck like a toothpick. I guess if you mean the Golden Era, sure, but the movesets for a huge portion of the roster were limited to punch, kick, punch, kick, finisher. Andre could barely walk by the 90s. Most of the injuries now seem to be more normal athlete injuries. I don't think the injuries are any more frequent as much as WWE just takes them more seriously and identifies them now. I don't foresee us having guys in bad shape like Perry Saturn 10-20 years from now.

I’m strictly talking about it as being a fan of Samoa Joe. Negative: They were just starting to build to Cena/Joe (probably at WrestleMania). Positive: Joe won’t be putting Cena over at WrestleMania.

I was talking about the way fans can get pissed off when their favorite wrestler puts someone over with no benefit to the loser. I feel the same way when one of my favorites loses for no reason. My point was that the wrestlers themselves don’t mind losing.

That's bad but let's face it, he wasn't winning the rumble anyway.

Depending on the severity of the rupture, this could end up keeping him out Mania, or at least long enough to prevent him from being able to be involved in any significant build toward a meaningful match. Real shame.

I was listening to the Fightful podcast and they spoke about it. They speculated that Joe may be out a week or two for precaution but it’s the kind of injury that while painful, you can work through it. It’s more of a nagging type of injury. With the Road to Wrestlemania starting off it’s better to not risk Joe getting seriously hurt. Maybe they can have him do promos or pretapes for a bit.
