I just saw a hilarious "The WWE List" episode on the Network about the other guys...you know, the Marty Jannetys of the wrestling world. They even dogged poor Dan Spivey, Stevie Ray and Rick Steiner, but it's true, they were all "the other guy". But what about today's tag teams?
Aiden English is clearly they other guy in his tag team with Rusev Dash Wilder is definitely the other guy Eric Rowan is the other guy Shelton Benjamin could arguably be the other guy Even with a name like Fish as his partner, the other guy is clearly O'Reilly The dude in the basketball gear, not holding the cup in the Street Profits is beyond a shadow of a doubt, the other guy
But who would you consider to be the other guy in these teams:
Rhyno/Slater? Breezango? AOP? The Usos? The Bar?

Oddly enough, Scott Steiner, to me, was always the other guy until his singles run. Rick was successful before the tag team.

It is odd to hear O'Reily is the other guy now; it was Fish in ROH.

I always remember a Monday Night Raw where Miz and Nitro broke up MNM and they were in the middle of a promo exchange. Nitro, while in the ring, and just before commercial break, said something like "see you later, Jannety" to Miz.
Years later, turns out he was the Jannety.
As to your question: 1) Aiden is the man from the Vaudevillains, but Other Guy in rusev 2) Who ever is not the bald one will be the other guy from the Revival. 3) Eric Rowan will forever be the other guy because the best WWE can come up with when he's in singles is Big Red the Steel Step wielding Clown. 4) Shelton was the man from TWGTT as sadly Haas was the Other guy. In American Alpha 2 he'll be the Other Guy. 5) Don't know much about ReDRagon (is it pronounced REDragon? Re Dragon, or Red ragon?) 6) Street Profits will be the Other guys like the Heathrobs, Highlanders, Cryme Tyme 7) Rhyno will be the other guy to this group if we're only looking at what will be done after their breakup. Slater will eclipse current run Rhyno but never legend Rhyno 8) Fandango will be the other guy. 9) AOP - Tokar will be the Other guy 10) The Usos - The one not married to Naomi is the toher guy. 11) The Bar - Can their be an other guy when both are pushed equally?

Oddly enough, Scott Steiner, to me, was always the other guy until his singles run. Rick was successful before the tag team. All true, but as the Steiner Brothers, I think Scott was destined to be the breakout star. It was technically a Steiner Line no matter which brother threw it, but Scotty's Frankesteiner was flashier than Rick's bulldog. Turning into an even more jakked Billy Graham cemented Big Papa Pump as "the main event". Rick on the other hand, went for the blue oyster bar look.

I like to pretend that Scott Steiner retired before becoming Big Pappa Pump. He just walked off into the sunset with his majestic mullet flowing in the wind. Never to be seen again.
I don't see either Dash or Dawson as better than the other. Matter of fact, I don't think either would have made it to WWE had they not found each other.
And about the Street Profits, you're right. Montez Ford is CLEARLY the star in that team. Dawkins will become his Stevie Ray.

Matt Hardy used to be the other guy but is on the same level now. Christian was the other guy. Rowan is the ultimate other guy of the past years. In the Wyatt family and with Harper. I think Breeze will be the other guy with the FashionPoPo. Weirdly enough the guys with a crazy mustache/beard are more often not the other guy. (Revival, Fish/O'riley, Vaudevillains, Harper/Rowan)

Not all teams have the 'other guy' Usos, The Bar, Rusev/English, Rhyno/Slater don't have the other guy in my opinion. And if any those teams do have the other guy, time will tell.

Oddly enough, Scott Steiner, to me, was always the other guy until his singles run. Rick was successful before the tag team. There were a few teams who I felt didn’t have an other guy. As I thought both were equals. Teams like... Steiner Brothers Road Warriors British Bulldogs Although I did have my favorites in each team. Rick, Hawk and Dynamite.

I remember back in 2002-2003, I said Bubba Ray Dudley would be a main event singles star while DVon Dudley would be the other guy. It wasnt in the organization I thought it would be in, but Ill take credit for it anyway.

But the point of the whole thing is that in most tag teams, there's usually that one guy that makes you forget about the other guy. Like really, did you care about Bart Gunn or Demolition Ax back in the day? Everyone loved Mr. Ass and remembers the Demo guy with the tongue sticking out instead.

I think the only tag team you can say didnt have a "The" guy is Strike Force....They were both career mid carders.

I think the only tag team you can say didnt have a "The" guy is Strike Force....They were both career mid carders. Martel was AWA Champion. If it doesn't have to be WWE tag teams I would say the Mulkey Brothers are a team that didn't have "the Man" in it. As far as a WWE team I would say The New Day. None of the three had a standout solo career.

I though Ax and Smash were equals and I didnt really care enough about either guy in the Smoking Gunns when they were together.

Rhyno/Slater - This one is odd Slater should be the other guy, as Rhyno is a veteran, but I feel the younger fans who dont know Rhyno would assume Slater is a bigger star. Breezango? - Tyler Breeze to me is the other guy, he's never really impressed me other than being funny with Fandango, plus 'Dango has a win over Jericho at Mania, and McMahon liked the Fandango gimmick VKM seal of approval is pretty big. AOP? - I cant even remember which one is which, gonna go with AOP being the other guys and Paul Ellering as the successful one The Usos - Also I cant ever remember which one is which, Jimmy is the Iron Man of WWE, so I'd go with Jey as the other guy. The Bar - Not that I'm happy with this, but Cesaro is the other guy. Sheamus is a multiple time world champion, RR winner MITB winner.
Matt Hardy and Christian were the other guys, D-Von became the other guy during Bubba's singles push in TNA, although I always liked D-Von more as a kid

I always saw Jeff as the Jannetty to be honest. Take away the tables, ladders, chairs, high spots, face paint and fishnet shirts and you've got a mediocre worker at best.
