I know dozens, even hundreds of guys have come through WWF/WWE who the company has dropped the ball with...and I get that some super giants like Khali weren't very good in the ring...but man, how'd they end up wasting Kurrgan? I liked The Oddities, but monster Kurrgan when he first arrived was the real deal. Would've been a great world champ.

I made a thread while back about the Truth Commission/Kurrgan. Definitely had potential as a monster heel especially in 98 to feud with Austin or even Taker.

There was an interview with Don Callis talking about hsi time in the WWF as Jackyl and how his character led the Truth Commission and then brought in the Oddities. I don't remember all the details, but the one thing that stood out was Vince (Russo? McMahon?) saw Kurrgan dance at a party. He then made him dance in wrestling. I believe Callis said it was a rule, don't do something in front of Vince you don't want to do in front of an audience. So that explains why he transitioned into the Oddities (I know there's more info).

People (Prichard?) have said Kurrgan just didn't progress in the ring at all. Just didn't learn how to wrestle. So they must have cut him because he was a waste for them at the time.
Shame, he had a great look and potential.

Better question is why didn't Vince let Callis wrestle? From everything I've heard (His and others podcast) he was awesome in the ring, and they called him the natural because he could do everything.

I never got Kurgan. Yes he was big but he looked odd and had a weird body shape to - no shoulders just a massive neck. I do think they missed the boat with Callis too though

yep, it came down to his ringwork. but I don’t think he was in the business for a huge amount of time before wwe threw him on international television. if he could’ve refined his skills he definitely had the size.
Don Callis, imo, was the real talent from the truth commission that got lost in the heap.

Kurrgan kind of reminded me of Matt Morgan, a big man with a lot of potential.

Callis was great in the manager role and as a heel on commentary during his ECW run.
