As reported earlier, WWE is currently planning on a Triple H - Randy Orton WWE title match for WrestleMania 24.
On the Smackdown side, the early favorite main event is Edge vs. Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship which would also be a streak vs. streak match. While Edge didn't win the 'Money In the Bank' match at WrestleMania 23 earlier this year, he wasn't pinned and didn't submit in the match so the argument can be made that Edge has never been defeated at a WrestleMania.
That leaves two of the WWE's biggest stars, John Cena and current World Heavyweight Chapmion Batista, out of the main event picture. With both having faced every top star on their respective brands, there is talk within WWE of having the two face each other in a dream match at WrestleMania. As always with WWE, plans constantly change, however it is likely to happen at this point.

If this actually were to occur (which I'm not holding my breath) then I'd be pissed if Trips/Orton got a higher spot on the card than Edge/Taker. Of those two possibilities, Edge/Taker should be the main event.

Wrestlemania is still 7 months away, but we're supposed to believe that the WWE has everything mapped out?
Sorry, but the Edge vs. Taker match isn't going to work. Edge LOST at Wrestlemania...if you want to say he's never been pinned at Wrestlemania, that's one thing, but when he didn't win the MITB match last year it means he lost it. The streak is over, IMO.

You don't think WWE plans things out in advance? They probably know at least what's going to happen from now until the Rumble. They just fill in the gaps each week on TV. If someone gets hurt, then they change it.

that would suck. Edge vs. Undertaker never would watch hate the second man. Hate Triple H because he doesn't job. Do Not want RKO to win the title he is a prick.

Edge vs Taker would be GREAT. Sucks we all know Taker wont lose at 'Mania though. Kinda ruins the match. Batista vs Cena also would be pretty awesome. Randy Orton vs HHH again would be awesome.

Edge/Taker is by far a bigger match than the already much overly contested HHH/Orton.

Taker vs Edge could be really good.
Any word on the MITB, 6 man or 8 man? I'm praying MVP wins it. That'd truly be Ballin'!
