One of the main things that annoyed me about the Women's Rumble Match was the fact how frequently the women were rolling out of the ring and for how long.
I just saw this on Reddit and found it interesting to share, someone actually rewatching the match and worked out how long people were outside the ring for.
Sasha Banks: 5 times totalling 12m05s Nia Jax: 1 time 10m58s Carmella: 1 time 6m00s Natalya: 1 time 5m04s Naomi: 2 times 4m53s Ember Moon: 1 time 4m26s Molly Holly: 1 time 2m52s Becky Lynch: 1 time 1m32s
I remember hearing on commentary that Sasha had been in the match over 50 minutes, yet had been on the outside of the ring taking a break for over 1/5th that time.
What did you guys think of the women leaving the ring during the match

Honestly, I'll give the ladies a pass because this was their first Royal Rumble. It's not exactly the easiest gimmick match to plan out with so many variables going on at the same time. Everyone for sure knows about the big spots/showdowns, but I think the majority of the time is ad-lib. Everyone else just needs to get out of the way and occupy themselves when it's time for big spots.
Overall it was fun, surprising, well paced and the right outcome. Was a good first time.

I remember watching it and rolling my eyes every time Sasha went out. She’s awful. She’s lost it since going up from nxt.

People are giving them crap for getting their air back outside the ring? I’d like to see anyone on Reddit try to last even 3 minutes in the ring without blowing up.
By rolling out of the ring they get some air back, and they give the other women some space to work. In normal Rumbles maybe the guys don’t roll out of the ring but they do tend to lay on the floor and just hug the ropes a lot. It’s the same thing but better for viewing purposes.
Plus by having Nia Jax stay out of the ring you kind of forget about her and don’t wonder why she isn’t just tossing everyone out.

It's a Royal Rumble match! Do people seriously expect them to be up on their feet fighting nonstop for 50 minutes? Of course you've got to have downtime of wrestlers sitting in a corner, lying underneath the bottom rope, or lying outside the ring. To expect otherwise is ludicrous.

I get needing rest holds, but they could easily have done a spot in the corner where they're out of the main camera shot like the men always do. I don't know if they were directed to roll out of the ring every time they needed a rest by management or what.

I get they needed some outside for certain things but to lay out there for 12 minutes is kind of crazy. I know everyone gets blown up and out of breathe but you can pace yourself, use rest holds, sit in a corner, lay near a corner and a bunch of other stuff. I thought the ring was pretty filled up at times so it would have probably been bad visually on tv to see them all laying there taking a nap

I just wish the commentary was better. There were times when I was wondering how Molly Holly got eliminated, whether Nia Jax was eliminated, and so on and so forth. Commentary could have helped with the confusion.

Didn't bother me. I think they were just clearing the ring so others can shine. But I did leave the room once and when I can back I thought I missed five eliminations.

I will say that it drew me out of the match and annoyed me a bit, because I was constantly like, "wait... did I miss something?"
I know it was their first Rumble, so I won't make a big fuss about it, but hopefully there's less of it next year.

Didn't bother me in the slightest.
Perhaps it was to make room for a some of the many moments the match produced.
Overall I thought it was a great ride and nothing like the mess some claim.
Technically, it should actually be done more often. Rules allow it so why not?

Kane has done that **** all the time. He was on the floor for a majority of his MITB match that he won as well.
Really doesn’t bother me at all.

It didn’t bother me. It was pretty easy to see who rolled out and who was eliminated. I think, like others have said, they were giving room for other participants to shine (especially half the women who probably haven’t been in a ring in quite a few years), and to sort of regroup.
I’m sure they wanted to make sure it wasn’t some huge clusterf*ck, which is what people may have assumed it was going to turn out to be.
Overall, it was my favorite Rumble. So I was happy with how it all turned out.

It is what it is. You need to have the ring clear for certain moves to be possible or certain interactions to be the focal point.
I don't think Molly Holly is going to do the Molly-go-Round with 18 other people in the ring, and if she did, who's to say you'd be paying attention to HER in such a crowded ring.
Would the face off between Nia Jax and Beth Phoenix have been so epic if other women had been flying around all around them?
Same with the interaction between Trish and Mickie....their face off needed to take center stage for that short moment, so the ring needed to be clear.
I think people are making something out of nothing, and the people who are upset about this for some reason don't understand the pacing of a match or how to showcase important spots.

Overall, it was a lot better than I expected. My only complaint was Sasha constantly breaking up someone else getting eliminated, even Corey Graves pointed it out multiple times.

I thought Molly was eliminated. I even asked my son and he said she was. A couple minutes later she was back in. I think it was a little to much rolling in and rolling out. But overall, I thought it was better than the men's rumble.
