Wasn't this the match where Bret blasted a fart in Bam Bam's face during the roll up for the win? Bam Bam talks about it on a shoot.

Wasn't this the match where Bret blasted a fart in Bam Bam's face during the roll up for the win? Bam Bam talks about it on a shoot. It might have been. These two fought a lot in 93 with the roll up being the finish so who knows I wouldn't be surprised if he did it to him more than once.

Great American Bash 1991
Your hosts:Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone
Bobby Eaton/PN News vs Steve Austin/Terrence Taylor in a ''scaffold'' match- ABOMINATION. That's literally all I can say about this match. The scaffold itself is only a few feet wide so these guys have very little space to move and you got a guy like PN News who's well over 400lbs up there. What the hell were they thinking?Complete waste of Eaton,Austin and Taylor here. Eaton grabs the flag to end this God awful mess. It was only 6 minutes long but it felt like an eternity. 27 years later and I still feel so bad for this Baltimore crowd.
While they take down the scaffold we go to J.R. and Tony who bury Ric Flair on commentary for him bailing out right before this show.
Z-man vs Diamond Studd-Terribly bland match here. The future Razor Ramon gets the win after a suplex after his manager DDP distracts Z-Man.
Ron Simmons vs Oz- Yes humanoids the great and powerful Oz had a run in WCW! Ted Turner got the rights to The Wizard of Oz movie so we got this mess as a result. He comes out of ''castle'' on the stage which has to be seen to be believed His manger. His manager is the ''Great Wizard'' aka Kevin Sullivan in costume. Simmons ends this one with 3 shoulder blocks for the win. I'm just gonna leave this here...
Ricky Morton vs Robert Gibson- Gibson was out with a knee injury and during that time Morton turned heel and joined up with the York Foundation. We got the battle of the RNR Express! Decent match here but IMO this is one duo they should've never broken up. Morton with the win after hitting Gibson with Alexandra York's computer.
Young Pistols/Dustin Rhodes vs Freebirds- I've seen worst 6 man tags but this one was nothing to write home about. Brad Armstrong is under a mask here and is called'' badstreet''.Who had the worst end of the stick when it came to bad gimmicks Brad Armstrong or Brutus Beefcake?Dustin Rhodes signature bulldog ends this one. Again it's a passable tag match but nothing more.
Yellow Dog vs Johnny B. Badd- Yellow Dog is Brian Pillman in a full yellow costume.Crowd is totally dead here and with how this event has been I don't blame em. The Dog with the win after Badd is DQ'ed after his manager Teddy Long interferes. Johnny B. Badd may have been a BAD MAN!!! but this was a BAD match.
Big Josh vs Black Blood in a lumberjack match- Another bad match here but shockingly Black Blood was actually trying. Josh with the win after a roll up when the babyface lumberjacks distract Blood.
El Gigante vs One Man Gang- With who's wrestling here how can this not be a total mess? The future Giant Gonzales with the win after a clothesline to the back of Gangs head. And to think WCW tried pushing Gigante to the World Title scene during this year.
Sting vs Nikita Koloff in a ''Russian Chain match''- This was the hottest feud of WCW during this time as Koloff was pretty decent in the heel role here. Overall this match was bad for the most part( a running theme of this show). We get a finish ala JBL/Eddie from 2004 as both guys hit 3 turnbuckles with Sting splashing Koloff into the 4th to give the Russian the win. Sting was insanely over here so I gotta question why they wouldn't have him go over here. This was no Piper/Valentine I can tell you that.
Lex Luger vs Barry Windham in a steel cage match for the vacant WCW World Title-LOUD we want Flair chants here. They should've chanted WE WANT REFUNDS instead. Oh yeah why isn't this the main event? No wonder this company is dead. This match for what it was wasn't terrible. It was boring at times but it was a passible title match. Luger with the piledriver for the win and the belt. Post match Luger turns heel and joins up with Harley Race and Mr. Hughes which doesn't make sense considering how over he was as a face during this time but hey that's WCW for ya.
Paul E. Dangerously/Arn Anderson vs Rick Steiner/Missy Hyatt- It's a handicap match as Hyatt is ''kidnapped' by the heels. Steiner slams Dangerously to end this after about 2 minutes. WHY THE HELL WAS THIS THE MAIN EVENT?
Final Thoughts-There's a reason why I haven't watched this show in many years. Not one single match here is worth your time. That scaffold match still haunts me all these years later. This event should be locked away in a vault never to see the light of day again. Verdict-AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I always wondered what would have happened if Flair had stayed with WCW then.
I remember the line up was Lex Luger vs. Ric Flair for the WCW Title and Steiners vs. Arn Anderson & Barry Windham for the WCW Tag Titles. I am guessing Lex would have won and had a baby face run as WCW Champion, and for the Tag Titles, I am not sure what they were gonna do.
Scotty getting injured and Flair leaving destroyed those matches.
Instead somehow, Barry Windham is the #2 contender to the WCW Title when he was tagging with Arn since his return in 1990 to WCW. Lex wins and goes heel... why??
And it seemed Arn Anderson was already saying, "bye bye Horsemen, hello Dangerous Alliance" that night too.

I seem to remember reading they wanted Lex to turn heel, as they had so much success with Flair being a heel champion. Strange decision but seems to fit with the WCW management style. “How can we take something with the chance of succeeding and ruin it?”

Was never a huge fan of WCW but looking at their alumni on paper, the company should never have folded. As the saying goes “it’s more difficult to f**k it up”

Anything up until 2008. After that year my interest in the product went downhill. Ok then why don't you review the December 2008 ppv(Armageddon?) next I still watched off and on up until the Summer of 2012 when Raw became 3 hours I'm like yeah I'm done. 2008 is my final full year watching weekly.
Armageddon 2008 it is.

Armageddon 2008
Your hosts-Jerry Lawler/Michael Cole(Raw),J.R./Taz(Smackdown),Matt Striker/Todd Grisham(WWECW)
Matt Hardy vs Vladimir Kozlov- Hardy is WWECW Champ here but this is non-title. I actually liked Kozlov. He was just an ol' fashioned brute who played the evil foreigner to a tee. Kozlov with win after a standing spinebuster. Decent opener.
CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio(winner gets an IC Title match)- Great match here as the chemistry was there. Punk with the win after countering a hurricanrana with the GTS which look like it broke Rey's nose as he was bleeding post match. Punk would go on to beat Regal for the belt just a few weeks later on Raw.
Next up is a segment with JBL and HBK. This is during the time they ran an angle where HBK was in a financial slump and needed JBL for help so he joined him for a little while. The whole storyline was pointless as they tried to make us think HBK was dirt poor and we know that's false. JBL was awesome in the heel role here so points there.
Finlay vs Mark Henry in a ''Belfast Brawl''- Decent little brawl here. Nothing more nothing less. I was always a Finlay dating back to his WCW days. Irishman with the win after a shillelagh shot.
Batista vs Randy Orton- Battle of Evolution! I was never a fan of either guy but this match was ok. It was boring in the beginning but picked up towards the end.Batista with the win after his signature Batista Bomb. If I recall right after this event Orton punted Dave in the head which would put em out until after WM 25.
Maria/Mickie James/Kelly Kelly/Michelle McCool vs. Maryse/Jillian Hall/Victoria/Natalya- Just a breather match for the fans after the last one. The girls did look good in those Xmas outfits i'll say that . Face divas with the win after McCool hits the Style Clash on Maryse.
John Cena vs Chris Jericho for the World Title- You humanoids know I was never a Cena fan but this match was actually pretty good. Jericho was killing it here during his heel run where he'd wear those suits and say really intelligent words. As for the match both told a good story with Cena trying for his ''FU'' finisher and Jericho countering every time. Cena with the win after countering the Walls with the STFU. Again I'm no Cena fan but he did have good chemistry with Y2J.
Triple H vs Edge vs Jeff Hardy for the WWE Title-Very good triple threat here. There is a spot in the match where HHH has Edge up for a doomsday device and Hardy hits em with that whisper in the wind and Edge goes down right on his neck. No wonder he had to retire just a few years later. Near the end both Kozlov and Matt Hardy come out but both start brawling after minutes. Jeff Hardy with the win after pinning Edge after he was pedigreed by HHH. Big moment here as the pop for Hardy was insane. I was never the biggest Hardy fan but he did deserve to win the big one and this night was that time. He would only hold it until next month at the Rumble when he would lose it to Edge thanks to his brother Matt. Great main event and a BIG moment.
Final Thoughts- This was a very good show considering the time period. I was on my last legs as far as the product goes but for this one I'll give WWE credit. The final Armageddon ever gets a solid Recommendation.
Until next time....Stay Classic Humanoids.
