I think WWE Mattel have been lazy on the release of the figures. The lack of colour, sculpt and accessories has shown throughout. They’re good but they just aren’t anywhere near what we had. The body scouts are all reusable I know Hasbro did that but that was later on. It could be magic but WWE Mattel aren’t getting the point here. The laziness shows when they don’t have the knowledge to ask collectors like my self for a basic opinion

They're are fine for what they are but, I prefer the Hasbro figures. I feel the Hasbro figures were more designed to the actual wrestler, the detail of the figures are better on the Hasbro's. My main problem with this line is that they have used similar body styles for wrestlers who are not similar. For instance, the jumper molds. Though I don't hate the jumper molds as much as others (I still say the worst figure mold made was by Hasbro - the Rude/Flair/123 Kid mold), the fact that they use the same mold for Sting/HHH/Daniel Bryan/Finn Balor. HHH and Sting were both taller and more muscular than Balor and Bryan but the figures show them as the same height and muscle definition, were as Hasbro varied the muscle definition and height (some times) to match the wrestler. My least favorite figure in this line is the Ultimate Warrior figure, no real definition to his figure, they basically took Cena's body bold and painted to look like Warrior, you can even see Cena's arm band mold on Warrior figure. Image of the Hasbro Warriors and Mattel Warrior below, showing that Hasbro had better detail to the figure. My hope is that in the future that they change this and that they make more of the wrestlers that Hasbro didn't make at the time, Diesel, King Mabel, Tugboat, Hart Foundation, Powers of Pain, Barbarian, Power & Glory, Hercules, Rhythm and Blues, etc. From that picture it looks like Hasbro's Ultimate Warriors are way better than the Mattel Retro. I had the Series 2 Gorilla Press UW but lost it and never found it and Ive been waiting for Mattel to do a Basic or Elite remake. I sold my Hasbro WWF figures years ago but I would buy that Ultimate Warrior again if I ever came across it somewhere. If you want to find a loose one, you can find Warrior #2 and Warrior #1 for a fair price on ebay, they come up often. Series 3 Purple trunks may cost a bit more, but I see that figure come up more often than you would think. However, if you want them on card, they don't come up very often anymore and they are getting expensive. Series 1 and 2 Warrior on card can run $100 plus, unless the card is not in good condition. But, Series 3 Warrior on card, not matter the condition, will run you $450 plus, and this one does not show up very often.

Tbf Hasbros Warriors are some of their BEST work while Mattels retro Warrior is easily their WORST. I get doing it due to sales, but I wish Mattel veered from doing guys Hasbro did unless it's an alternate gimmick. Even Taker is too close to the original. I agree with the Mattel warrior not being great. I popped on an extra lost legends warrior head and tassels and I think it looks much better.

I should probably just throw on a basic it elite head I like more too.

Warrior #2 is actually very hard to find loose and mint. Almost everyone I ever see has the paint chipped off on the nose for whatever reason seems to be a thing with the figure.

The biggest issue with them isn't even them, it's the buyers. People seem to think retro means they need to all be older guys. Retro is just a nod to the style.
I buy most Seth rollins stuff, so this is just another piece to make the collection have some variation to it.
I'm not going all in on them because it isn't the 80s or 90s anymore and better stuff is out there.

I think making them heavy on current roster guys was just a big slap in the face to people who actually loved the og line.

I understand that Retro is just the style - but surely these figures will appeal mostly to older fans and those that remember or collected the original Hasbro line? As you say, it's not the 80's or 90's and better stuff is available... why would kids and people with no interest or knowledge of the Hasbro line want these figures over the much better looking Elites and Basics? It just seems strange (to me) making a Retro line of mainly the current-roster, when a large portion of the fanbase for them is older fans (that might not even be interested in the current WWE product).

Because the goal is to make money. There is more money in current guys. If it was the other way around, Mattel would make more old guys. They want that cash. And they are toys, which are mostly bought for kids. I get why you might want it another way, and sometimes I feel that way about other things, but it all comes down to money

If the line continues, I’m sure we will get a lot of the classic wrestlers we desire. Mattel made a shockmaster Figure. Anything is possible lol
