Grabbed Brodie, OC, and Darby today. Really thought about the others but gotta start cutting back somewhere. Mox and Jericho I have enough other stuff plus I thought they were the worst of the bunch. Shida was tough to pass but the more I looked at Dr Baker that figure looks like she is about 50 years old. Just in the caked on makeup phase of life.

I’d grab Brodie in a heartbeat if they said part of the proceeds were going to his family. That seems like the type of gesture they can afford to make.

I'm being honest when I say I bought each one at $18 because I wanted each one and have no plan to sell them in the future. I guess I am "paying for the hype" in the sense that they've started charging more for these in the last couple years, but while resellers do exist and it's frustrating for collectors at times, I don't believe that resellers are the majority of who is buying Micro Brawlers. Same here. Do I think they're a great value? Absolutely not. But I like them, can afford the inflated price, and have zero intention of ever selling them. I probably will try to limit myself to one of each character moving forward. With the variant Vader, Savages, Owen, etc I get the feeling that we're going to see more and more color variants or alternate versions. I don't mind going down that slippery slope with Mattel/Jazwares. But I need to draw the line somewhere. That's my point. I'm not trying to be negative -- but you admit the price is "inflated" -- it's because of the hype. These are NOT worth anywhere close to what you're paying,; you're buying them because you want to be part of the community. It's exactly what I said -- and there's nothing wrong with it. But they're ripping people off charging 2 dollars less than the amazing AEW Jazzwares figures for these things that probably cost under a dollar to make

EDIT: Just to add, I'm not trying to defend the Brawlers or PWTees necessarily here, as I do think the prices are bit overboard (for example, if the AEW figures were $10 before shipping, I probably would have bought the whole set. At $17.00, I bought three.) I just mean that pretty much al figures or etc. (including the AEW Jazzwares) are priced well above the production costs.

This is a bargain. They charged less than $4 for shipping for Danhausen. With my honor club discount, it was less than $16 total.

Just listened to majorpod from Friday. They discussed the fallout from the MachoMan microbrawler releases. Here is my take:
Cardona, Myers, and SilverBells treaded very lightly when discussing the "controversy", right off the bat you can tell they started speaking very slowly, perhaps scripted to make sure they didn't upset PWT or their fans. In normal circumstances (let's say if it was a ghostbusters or a TMNT thing where they had no connects) they'd lay into the perpetrators with their usual no-holds-barred approach.
However they know it spun so much angst that they couldn't just side with PWT so they kept saying "they understood" the hate. They do admit to knowing it was going to happen in advance with Myers stating he couldn't give PWT any advice bc that sort of thing hadn't been done before.
I don't think Cardona is being fully "transparent" as he often quotes with his involvement in the whole planning but I do think they did a good job laying out both sides.
In conclusion, PWT should just work on a better shipping program, whether that's making it incentivized or some other way to may the consumer feel like they are getting reward for their loyalty. For Ryan to say he would just increase the price of the brawler to lower the shipping publicly was a slap in the face and I'm sure we all know that goes on but I think he regrets saying that.

The owner of PWT is clearly a twat and hopefully AEW realise that and isolate any of there products from his business.

I agree. But given that PWT makes and sells all their shirts, they clearly don't care...

Do people expect AEW to have a strong moral compass? The show after Brodie Lee's death was heartfelt, but I don't expect any large company to be filled with people who honestly care about (almost) anything but $$$. Historically, the wrestling business is a dark place filled with broken people.

Historically, the wrestling business is a dark place filled with broken people. I've seen studies that basically younger consumers tend to expect the companies they support to have the same moral/ideological values that they support. I think you're spot on when you say that companies (wrestling or otherwise) will be profit driven, but they're also savvy enough to realize that crafting an image that aligns with their customers is profitable. With that said, PWT just being tools won't rise to the threshold where they need to act.

What incentive does PWT have to change? None. Clearly, they haven't seen a huge drop in sales of the Brawlers. And even if that were to happen, they make almost all their money from T-Shirts anyway. The after effects won't bleed over.

The idea was that corporate social responsibility was primed to be the biggest marketing tool available in the near future. This was probably back in like 2010. We're seeing that exist now in a lot of ways.

Anyone have any good Microbrawler displays to share? I’m not happy with my 3-tier nail polish holder. I’m constantly having to push the figs back

I’m constantly having to push the figs back I use this Expandable Cabinet Shelf from the container store. The figs stand well thanks to the rubber-ish pad, and it’s it’s room enough to have them in alternating positions. Currently I have it closed, but given the influx of Brawlers in the next few months, probably expanding it sooner rather than later.

Vader has shipped, and ordered my Martina Brawler. I've been a fan of her gimmick for years now since she was in UK indies, so couldn't pass on that one. I have zero interest in Danhausen, but it seems like he's fairly close to selling out.
