Do any of you adults live without an internet/cable bill? Is it possible to buy a hot spot device and use that at home to stream movies and or games? Or just regular internet usage? Are data limits an issue? Currently I have to pay for Internet at my house, office, and phone bill. Also, my girlfriend just cut the cord with her ISP and I was trying to find a way around her having to find a new one.
Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Thanks!

Good luck. The hot spots that phone companies offer bleeds your cell service data dry and then you get charged per gig. Best bet it getting set up with an internet service. Or, hang out at a coffee shop.

I have a hot spot included with my unlimited plan.
I use it in my room to watch Netflix and what not because I need a new modem.
It works, but sometimes shuts off

DO NOT use a hot spot as your only access to the internet. It will cost way too much. Those are meant to supplement your access when you aren't near WiFi. If you don't want to get home internet I suggest you look into T-Mobile. Their unlimited data plan is great. You get capped at 50 (or 52) gb then they slow it down from LTE to 2-3g. That's plenty for most people but the limits reset every month so you shouldn't have long to wait if you do end up hitting your data cap. And you get Netflix for free.

A friend of mine used a hotspot he got through at&t he ended up paying more than I was for internet through my cable company.

Yes get actual internet service. Hotspot device won’t work while for online gaming. Plus the cost.

Unless you're only doing the most basic of browsing and you have no mobile data caps, hotspots are not a suitable replacement for having dedicated Internet service.

I have "unlimited" data on my phone. When I signed up I was told I had unlimited with a 10gig cap on hot spot. I never use the hotspot. I do use my phone very much. At about 27gigs of usage I get a text from my provider telling me I may experience slower speeds during peak hours, so that lesser served customers may be prioritized. Or some such nonsense.
In short I'd say don't rely on just a cell provider for imternet.

May I ask how much you are roughly paying a month? I pay my cable through Comcast which is roughly $75/month and my phone bill which has unlimited data through at&t, which is roughly $66/month.
