Does anyone know the reason why this was such a small series? The series only had four figures released (Bret, Taker, Bulldog, and Dragon). It's odd because every series up to that point had at least 12 figures released - series 1 and 2 had 12, series three had 14, and the summerslam card re-releases had 15. Does anyone know if more figures were supposed to be released but weren't? If so, does anyone know who they were supposed to be? It seems like Hart Foundation Jim Neidhart would have been released in this set to go with Hart Foundation Bret Hart, but since the tag team had broken up before release I guess they went ahead and released Bret since he kept the same attire and re-did Anvil in his singles attire and released him in series 5. Would be interesting to know if more figures were to be released and who they were. Sketch of Hart Foundation Anvil:

If you add LOD and Nasty Boys it’s 8 which was similar to the series size from series 4 going forward.

I use to count LOD and the Nasty Boys as Series 4 until I started looking at the back of Series 3 figure cards and saw their names listed. I believe they are a part of Series 3, not 4. If they were part of series 4, then we would not see there names on the backs of series 3 cards. Hulk Hogan Series 3 Card Back:

I still don't get the weird tights on that Anvil sketch. He had normal kneepads. The sketch however looks like they are implemented on the tights. Really weird... Does anybody have a better resolution of the sketch btw?

If you look at the pictures below, where the kneepads would be, you see a stitching around the knee - kind of like those old professor jackets with the stitched on elbow pads. I think that is what the drawing above is referencing.

I think The Hart Foundation were supposed to be a 2-pack along with LOD and Nasty Boys in S3 (or technically S2 Tag Teams as they were a separate assortment). I so wish they would have just released him in the Hart Foundation outfit. Even as a kid, I would have much rather had them even if they were out of date.
And everyone always fails to realize Big Boss Man was in S4 not S3. He was in the cases with Bret, Bulldog, Taker and Steamboat and also appears in that wave in the Hasbro catalog for 92'. Maybe at one point he was planned to be in S3, so that's why his photo is on the back of the S3 cards, but he's technically S4.

I agree, they should have just released the Hart Foundation, along with Rhythm and Blues Greg Valentine and Tugboat. Had they put those in series 3 and the Hart Foundation in Series 2 tag teams, they could have given us Typhoon and Natural Disasters Earthquake and Greg the Hammer Valentine in his normal attire in Series 4 to go with Singles Bret Hart, Ricky Steamboat, British Bulldog, and the Undertaker. But too late now... I am a little surprised that Boss Man is a part of series 4, I have always counted him with series 3 because he was on the card backs for every series 3 figure. I wonder if he is supposed to be a part of series 3 but something delayed the making or shipping of his figure and maybe that is why he was shipped with Bret/Davey/Dragon/Taker. Would be interesting to know the full story.
