I'm gutted at Keef's passing. It hit me like a ton of bricks right in the chest.
The Prodigy, if it wasn't obvious enough through my RPs are one of my all-time favorite bands, only behind Type O Negative. I remember when I first saw the Firestarter video and I thought he looked soo freakin' cool and I've been a big fan ever since.
Rest easy, Keef.

Maybe I'm alone, but a celebrity's death has never really bothered/upset me.

Maybe I'm alone, but a celebrity's death has never really bothered/upset me. James Gandolfini is the only celebrity who died that ever got to me. I still watch the entire Sopranos series once a year for the last 12 since it ended.

The most emotional one for me was without a doubt Chester Bennington. As one of the guys from Kerrang magazine said "is it selfish of us to think about how we'll never get any new music from this person ever again, when someone has just lost their life?" In a way, yes but being a longtime fan of an artist, it is a thought that crosses your mind and can be hard to accept. Another one of the Kerrang guys (from the radio show) noted that "the songs now take on a whole new meaning," at the best of times LP songs were often very 'depressing?'. Linkin Park was and still is my favourite band ever and if a 'famous' death has ever gripped me in that sort of way it would certainly be Chester's.

I've noticed that a lot of LP fans are reaching out to Prodigy fans after Keef's death. That's really nice.

I saw that, sad that they both went in the same way too. I was listening to a load of classic Prodigy songs on the radio at college today.

Maybe I'm alone, but a celebrity's death has never really bothered/upset me. In the wrestling world, Eddie got me. But I was also only 12ish at the time, and it came so out of no where. I didn't even know until RAW started either because the internet wasn't a commodity then, really. For anyone else, Sir John Hurt hurt a little bit. I know he's done other stuff, but I'll always remember him as The Doctor, and as Olivander from Harry Potter. I've been lucky that not a lot of musicians I adore have passed on. Even the old buggers like Bob Dylan and Carlos Santana are still kicking, let alone the heavy drug abusing 2000s emo bands. As Needles said, Bennington did hurt a bit even though I am not a huge fan of his work...more so because, again, came out of seemingly nowhere.

All my favorite wrestlers are dead, and I spend every waking day on pins and needles anticipating the inevitable, crushing demise of The Iron Sheik. I used to recognize an annual day of mourning on each anniversary of the death of Joe Strummer, but then my son was born on the same day and it seemed sort of inconsequential to continue mourning. Maybe I'm alone, but a celebrity's death has never really bothered/upset me. In the wrestling world, Eddie got me. But I was also only 12ish at the time, and it came so out of no where. Eddie died after Murdoch dropped close to 600mil on MySpace. The internet was huge at the time.

Bingo. My only internet access for those years was dial up free trial AOL discs when I could get my hands on them.

The last wrestling death that got me was Roddy Piper.
It literally came out of nowhere.
He recorded the final episode of his podcast and that same month, he was gone.

Savage died right around the time I started watching wrestling again and that was the first thing that I remember happened. I love Savage.
Losing Roddy and Dusty just a month apart was rough.

I'm getting to a point where most of the legends' deaths that would be particularly earth shattering to me have already come to pass. Off the top of my head, the inevitable ones left that would really leave me shaken are Sheiky, Terry Funk, and Flair. There are a larger handful of others that would be downright devastating to me, in the vein of Scott Hall, Jake Roberts, Ted DiBiase, and what have you, but I generally like to hold that 'inevitable' title for those who've lived to see a certain advanced age bracket (Scott Hall notwithstanding).

I got to know Trent Acid a little bit right before he overdosed. A close friend of mine grew up with him and introduced us. I was pretty sad when I heard about him. Vader and Dr. Death were two of my favorites growing up so I got bummed out by both them passing. Flair and Sting are the only two "legends" left that would seriously bum me out if they passed.
