WFWF General Discussion 2019

As I told Brennan in PM, all I did was pass along a warning to y'all because this has happened before. Hell, it got McGurk unmodded and was one of the catalysts that had Jack replace Yukio. I'm just the messenger. Do what ya want, y'all know people come into WFWF when they're upset from other boards and report ish because they're bitter. Look at Drakz a little while back. Warning bar AND he had his work for that show deleted permanently. Partly because his title was visible to every human on earth, but also some bitter ish from someone outside the place.

What y'all do with it is up to you, don't shoot the messenger just trying to make sure crap doesn't go down, especially since WFWF currently has quite a few...ahem...gritty writers.

I hate the thought of creativity being hindered in any way. But it's not like your content has to change (unless you write an RP about killing adult workers in the back of cars or something then that's a whole different animal). No one's work is vile content wise. S*it isn't even breaking censors. It's just that if enough reports go through from other boards because people who legit broke censors take temper tantrums and go after self censoring because "YOU WARNED ME WARN THEM TOO" and they come in droves, which always happens when ish hits the fan elsewhere...eventually the other shoe will drop from other authority members. Always has a way of making its way here. And I just don't want to risk the board I love so much getting caught in the crossfire because of a tantrum from elsewhere.

Hey guys, can we not make too big a deal out of a minor request? There's no real difference between using one asterisk or three asterisks so your character can say f*** or s***. Some writers have been doing the self censoring that way all along, like Markw. I started switching to it myself a few months back, although not consistently. It's a small ask by us to make sure we don't ruffle any feathers with the hundreds of non-WFigs members on the boards who might cruise through here and say "Why are these guys so special?" We're not special. We have to play within the TOS of the site as a whole. If someone decides to report an RP, the site admins have to respond as they would to any complaint about any post.

I will go to bat for any one of you who is called into question for content in your RP that pushes boundaries into PG-13 or TV-MA because we are clearly writing fiction pieces for entertainment and are due some liberties because it is art. But I'm not going to bat over a few asterisks.

If you haven't already, you mind moving mine to the alumni section unless you guys purged that when you and Rich did the revamp? I fully plan on using Anna every once in a while like I said, but I can't even classify myself as a part timer anymore.

Can it become common practice to archive all character related posts when archiving profiles for future reference please? That RP archive is gonna be a pain to rebuild.
