Real recognize real: I always get dismayed when I see Ace Bennett lurking about before leaving without posting a profile, finally signaling his much anticipated return.

If I had any sort of inspiration and/or motivation to come back for more than a one or two show stretch, then I'd consider it. The McMann stuff was really fun for me before it got old but writing my last "serious" character whose name I don't even remember most of the time was a chore for me. Never say never I suppose.

Why is it that Word recovers every document I don't give a s*** about without fail, but the one time I actually need to it doesn't bother? (I didn't have a vast amount done, it's just f***ing annoying)

I might need to try this computer s*** again.

(I didn't have a vast amount done, it's just f***ing annoying) I almost exclusively do any sort of writing in Google Docs now. The fact that is saves all the past revisions to my Google drive automatically has been a lifesaver on more than a few occasions.

Don't know why I didn't think of that, I'm forced to use Google docs for work all the time. Thank you. It's my new favorite manner of writing. Despite my one-time exclusivity, I don't care to write on my phone at all. Nevertheless, GD is super handy in the event that I do happen to get an idea on the go. Rather than doing the old c+p method from Notepad to whatever, I can work on the same document regardless of which device I'm on.

Didn't we use Google Docs to collaborate? xD Surprisingly, I've never used it for those purposes in all my time here. That's surprising. It was actually Mark's idea to collaborate on my London RP which, funny enough turned out to be one of my best ones.

Didn't we use Google Docs to collaborate? xD Yeah, it's common sense to use Google docs for collaborative writing. It's also common sense to use it instead of word for all RPs, it's just my brain didn't make that leap.

That's surprising. It was actually Mark's idea to collaborate on my London RP which, funny enough turned out to be one of my best ones. In the sense that for a little bit shy of a year, I conversed nearly daily with Rich regarding the ins and outs of how we wanted to try and run this place, a large part of which involved shared writing duties for almost every show, yes. In the other sense, where, at least digitally, I'm a mega-private person, bordering on paranoid, not so much. I know different things work for different folks here, but for my money, I'm perfectly, perfectly fine with never, ever, ever being anything more than SYE/Brennan/whatever to the folks I meet here, right up through the people I'm "closest" to. I'm uncomfortable with the fact fact that, through their own offering, I know the real names (first and last) of anyone here. One incident of a WF creep show crossing the threshold into my real world is more than enough for one lifetime. In retrospect, I'm lucky it only took 17 years to finally happen, but I'm perfectly fine with that remaining an isolated incident, and if that means collaborating via ProBoards PM at the risk of convenience and ease, I'll take it.

I can relate with this 100%. I get paranoid too to the point where irrational fears consume my head about some stranger traveling across the world with bad intentions because I watch shows or listen to podcasts about stuff like that. I've given away figures on here to other collectors so some people on these forums know my name and where I'm from but I like to think there's a trust between collectors not to disclose that to anyone else.

That's always worked for me. I do all my writing in Pages, the Apple version of Word, and do all my collaborating via PMs. Probably always will because that's what I'm most comfortable with plus after twenty years writing code for work I've been programmed to the point where I reflexively save my work every other paragraph or so. If I ever had to write an RP on my phone I can guarantee you I would put the White Room RP to shame: "I'm the lethal weapon. I'm gonna kick <insert opponent's name here>'s ass."
