Yep, I've played guitar on and off since I was a kid. Also can drum and play bass.

Going to take up guitar in the next couple months. Just need a little more cash so I can fully invest in all the equipment.

Sax, flute and clarinet. I'm self taught on the piano, but I'm still a rookie all things considered. I can read piano scales and understand them, but I learned what I did by ear and went from there by using my brass classical style training. See below.
I played flute and clarinet in grade school. When I got to middle school and started performing with the high school kids, I was the ONLY boy who played clarinet or flute (surprise, surprise). So, instead of being smart and taking advantage of being the only rooster in a hen house, I talked with my band director and he said I should consider saxophone. He had me work a couple of weeks on a loaner alto sax to get everything down and I picked it up almost instantly. He knew money was tight for me and mum so he knew I couldn't buy a new or used sax and he couldn't let me take the loaner home, so he made me a deal. If I'd join the brass section, he would give me his old, personal baritone sax. I'd be responsible for the mouth piece, pad replacements, cork fixes and reeds, but I agreed and he gave it to me. Played it all through school. Still have it.
I've since shrunk down to a tenor, because the sound is higher, but not quite alto...nice smooth jazzy sound, and it can play low and high enough for when I would do church orchestra stuff, and I've taken to transposing some rock music to sax and tenor fits best.
I'm thankful for him giving me that instrument because music means a lot. I could have done clarinet, stayed, and just marched through the motions to get band practice as an essentially free period. But I got the sax, and as a result I still play...though not as much as I'd like, admittedly.

No. I played violin in 4th grade and tried learning guitar a bit when I was 17 but I’ve never really played an instrument to the point where I’ve gotten any good.

You let me spend how many years taking the heat as the WFWF's resident former band geek, and all this time you were packin' almost as many instruments as me? What a heel. I'm only here to stooge on a guy, but since I'm here....yeah, guitar for 22ish years, bass, drums - pretty much the rock band gamut. I picked up trumpet to join the band my sophomore year of high school, got bounced over to baritone horn by junior year, made section leader by senior. Ukulele, mandolin. All self taught. Like to get my hands on a sax and see what happens there. Piano's a lost cause, but I can bang out some basic root/3/5s when the occasion calls for it.

Guitar for fifteen years, drums for two. Those are the main ones, but I've dabbled in the piano, bass, harmonica, ukulele, and recorder as well. I can generally finagle my way around any instrument put in front of me. I'm not saying to expert levels, but I can figure them out anyway.

I play drums a bit, I'm not that great but I can play along to some songs I like, great way to pass time and it's a good feeling when you get in the zone.

Yes, I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years now. Tried piano and bass along the way too but playing guitar has been a constant in my life for the last decade.

bad guy™The way you have to bite your lip to blow on the reed of a clarinet caused an indent in my lip that didn't heal for years.

Whenever I do pick up a guitar, I always end up playing an out of tune version of "I Wish It Was Christmas Today". I can't help it.
