Look at the state of that left foot - that's why those ankle joints are useless, and should be deleted, ASAP. Just for your peace of mind... the left foot is all and well. The Shark is standing tall and strong in my display.

I hope the same effort is being put into making sure we can get the Fan Central series too! Good to hear Mattel is working on it. Fan Central may be tougher since some or all of the cases seem to have been shipped to TRU. Once they leave Mattel's warehouse, it's out of their control. Fan Central is likely to be sold off to a secondary buyer through the bankruptcy process if they don't make it to stores. There were rumors from TRU employees that vendors were taking back all unopened cases of inventory, so there may be a chance Mattel has quite a few of these back in their possession to redistribute.

Mattel, Lego and McFarlane were at my local TRU last Wednesday pulling all unopened cases of their product from the store. And I can see them (Mattel) having TRU ship it back to them from the Distribution Centers because TRU missed a payment to their vendors last week.

Hope something becomes of the Fan Centrals, they're no longer listed online.

I get the special packaging and all, but is it really something that needs to be priced at $39.99 CAD?
Were Virgil, Isaac Yankem and other TRU exclusive elites expensive for our American friends?

Wait I remember the prototype pic it showed a belt. What happened to the belt? This figure is way overpriced just to get Shark and headband. The WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt was mistakenly displayed with Shark at first. It will be released with Ron Simmons in Target's Hall of Champions Elite Series 2. Edit: Bill on Twitter: "Shark distribution in the US has been delayed due to TRU situation. We are presently looking for a new distribution channel for it. We know collectors want it and are determined to get it to them."Crap like that just pisses me off. In Canada, we don't get the HOF line. We got series 3, and it went to TRU stores. But Series 4 or 5 never came to Canada. So for all of us Canadians, we won't ever see Diesel, or Piper, or Jake the Snake in our stores. Yet Bill can worry about getting these figures to the American people, but give a jack to us Canadians who miss out on a lot of figures, like the Walgreen exclusives or the Target exclusives.

The HOF we did get is still in shelfwarming hell. Why did they get so much? There were at least 10 of each at my TRU when they showed up.

That is exactly why we never saw any of the subsequent series released. HOF3 sold poorly so TRU had no interest in picking up HOF4 or HOF5 when series 3 is still warming shelves. I wonder if this set sold terribly or if they ordered too many cases?! As for other store exclusives, presumably the reason they are not available here is that no one was interested in carrying them- perhaps high cost since they are exclusives?! I am surprised Amazon has not picked up any of these exclusives, although until recently they were not even carrying the main line elites on a consistent basis.

I'm gonna say both, but mostly they ordered way too many. These are all 80s wrestlers and they were stocked to the moon and back. Same as the network spotlight figures of short lived 90s gimmick. Its like they have no idea who their market is, those were considered "Stone Cold and Triple H" figures, so they filled the shelves with them. They could have sold twice as much product in the last 2 years if they didn't have this crap clogging the shelves.

My Tru was putting out basics from in the 30s most of last year, like ones that still had the yellow carding. Lots of Adam Rose.

That's the thing though, I'd gladly pay a bit more if they were readily available here. I end up paying more in the long run. Its the retailers at the end of the day, not Mattel. I'm not going to cry about the price because at the end of the day its my hobby and no one is forcing me to buy these.

Don’t be so butt hurt I know Mattel's primary market is the US - but they do have large fanbases in places like Canada, the UK, Australia etc. too. And as a fellow international collector, all these US store-exclusives are VERY frustrating... our only option (other than fellow collectors - some of which unfortunately can't be trusted) is to pay scalper prices on places like eBay. It just makes collecting the Mattel line much harder (and less enjoyable)...

I know distribution in Canada isn't great but if it makes you feel better, I think you severely overrate how good the distribution is in the U.S. in the first place. I live like a block away from a TRU and have a Wal-Mart and Target within like 2 miles and still end up buying most of the store exclusives online or on ebay because they're so hard to find.

Stopped by a Toys R Us today and I actually saw him. I have no interest in the figure so I just left, but they only had three up. Wonder how many are packed per shipment.
