I have recently been thrown around the idea of selling off some of my collection, but after looking up what figures are selling for not sure it's even worth the time. I had a friend who sold off most of his collection around 5-7 yrs ago or so and on average he was making $30 or more profit for the classics line and $15 or more for other Jakks. Now it seems as if you can get a lot of them where people aren't making much $ at all on classics and others it seems like they're just giving them away. I haven't really kept up on all the ins and outs but has the Mattel line hurt Jakks values or is there just not a market for them anymore?

For wrestlers that Mattel has made figures of, definitely. But at the same time, Jakks has made a lot of wrestlers that Mattel hasnt yet and most likely wont, and those guys can be expensive on ebay.

The answer can be yes and no, but I love both Jakks & Mattel.

I sold mine off last year for around £1200 last year after selling fees and postage. I definitely made more than my money back, but I was lucky enough to find a local buyer who bought a big chunk of them.

Mattel didn’t hurt Jakks value, Jakks hurt Jakks.
