I really enjoyed the OG Roseanne, but this reboot lacks what Roseanne was all about in the beginning. Dealing with personal issues. This is trying too hard to be relevant in todays world. Ok the kids are adults now so let them deal with stuff. Yet like Fuller House it lacks any real pizzazz. What are the issues? Where are the problems? WTH is this about now?
This is totally diluted. Kill off Dan then write him back in, (in a corny way) Jackie isn’t close to being what she once was (she acts clueless when trying to be funny), Dan isn’t the same as well, he’s just gliding by, they involve Becky #2 as a new 1 and done character, OG Becky never had a kid in this world yet was still with Mark, (didn’t Becky say she was pregnant in the OG Roseanne?) David & Darlen not being together makes no sense in this world, (clearly the guy that plays David can’t be on as often as needed) Andy never existed, what happened (I don’t remember) to the LunchBox restaurant they own/owned?, Roseanne is a Uber driver in what was known as a rural town? So Landford isn’t a town? It’s like a city now?
Too much who cares stuff for them to cover & fans maybe shouldn’t care, but all is lost when things were 1 way, then turned all which ways for their own understanding. I for 1 liked the reboot idea & knew going into it that it wouldn’t be all that good, but I never expected it to be as bland & writing to just say “Screw it”. I’m still watching in hopes things get better.

I don't know what the deal is with Andy but they mentioned Jerry in the first episode. He is on a fishing boat he just won't return their calls.

I'm wondering if DJ's daughter is his or his wife's from a previous marriage. There's this big hubbub I was reading about her being too dark to actually be his or some crap like that, idk.Social media is a wide, wacky world of wonder. I'm assuming his wife already had the daughter and that he is her step dad. Though it would be funny if his wife ended up being the girl he refused to kiss in the play. It is that girl. They have the same name. Geena Williams. It is also said that the original actress will be on an episode.

Remember when Roseanne tearfully apologized to DJ for spanking him because she grew up in an abusive household and didn't want to spank her kids? Yet now she suddenly goes on about how her grandkids need to be spanked and taught a lesson because her parents are too soft? This is actually super on point imo. How many people on social media complain about millenials, even though they ing raised them? The fun part about getting old is we become idealists with a revisionist history. People also fear change. So by nature, they revert back to what they knew from adolescence, simpler times, as being the way the world should work. Roseanne is also reflective of the arm chair quarterback society our world has become. I haven't watched the originals since syndication in the 90s. Even then, it wasn't ever one of my favorite shows. It fell into the Seinfeld category where I saw a ton of it but didn't think most of it was funny because of my age and inability to relate to it. So watching Roseanne in 2018 was just genuine curiosity. I've really enjoyed it so far. Most likely because I'm at an age where I have my own kid and my parents are grandparents and that world is far more relatable to me. It's a sitcom. Not Westworld. This show requires virtually zero pschoanlaysis. Plenty of shows play(ed) fast and loose with their own details, especially from the 90s.

I like it so far. Still has some of the charm of the original.

I really enjoy what I've seen. All I have is Hulu, but there are 6 episodes on there. Is that the amount that has played out on ABC so far? (I'm truly curious--thanks!)

David got fat af 😂 I’m really not picturing him as a dad so I think the storyline is perfect. Was anyone else stoked to see Roseanne and Jackie’s mom on? She hasn’t changed a bit. I’m hoping this isn’t just a small role. The dynamics of her relationship with the family is gold. I feel it made the show 1000 times better in the original run. Their mom was and is one of my favorite characters on the show. She's great, and she looked no older than the last time she was on Roseanne. Crazy. I hope he's a reoccurring character in some way.

Roseanne has always been a garbage tier person. But I am glad more people know now. Glad they cancelled it. I feel sorry for everyone else she dragged down with her though.

Well Thanks a lot Roseanne, you just cost a lot of people their jobs. And good entertainment for millions. It got high ratings in season one. It must have hurt for her to stand up for a Muslim in the script.

Why celebrities still write stupid things on Twitter after dozens of people have already gone down in flames for it is mind boggling. How they can see people going down left and right and then do the exact same thing is just stupid.

I usually enjoy seeing irony pay dividend on this level but in this case she ruined the entire show for her cast-mates and the audience. It's just sad. Sad that her belief system is so broken and sad she didn't think of anyone but herself before pulling this stunt.

She must have thought, with the return of the show being a big hit, she could say what she wanted, and it wouldn't affect her.

She must have thought, with the return of the show being a big hit, she could say what she wanted, and it wouldn't affect her. The weird thing is after the first episode aired she or more likely her people went through her Twitter and took down a lot of the conspiracy theories and boardline bigoted comments, so she knew it could be a problem. I watched a few of the episodes and had enjoyed them, but always knew the show wasn't long for air as Roseanne just has to be controversial and get her name out there. This is just like when Tim Allen last year compared being a conservative in Hollywood to be Jewish in Nazi Germany and getting his show canceled.

I’m pretty sure no one needs to be called a Muslim ape. I hated this show before and avoided it like the plague when it came back. I was sad John Goodman and Sarah Chalke lowered themselves to working with this pig again - and that people watched it! Maybe Fox News can air it now.
