What really stood out to me was the natural chemistry the cast still had. Also, what I liked about this and the original show, is that the Conners are pretty much your normal everyday family. Nothing special or idealized about them.
The part in the beginning when they were separating their medications had me dying laughing.
I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the politics in the show. For me, the politics went to how real families interact. For example, my cousin is they type of person that thinks Trump walks on water and he’s literally said that people make fun of Trump belong in jail. I’m more in the middle (maybe more democrat leaning). He comes over and starts ranting and raving every time, where I would just rather not talk politics. So for me Roseanne hit on the real family dynamic by touching on politics. I also liked how they weren’t afraid to represent both sides.
The other part that had me laughing really hard was when they were saying they were fine with Darlene being gay and Darlene kept saying she wasn’t gay.

If the politics is handled like it was in the first two episodes it will be funny and will be good and on topic. My hope is that it doesn't just become Last Man Standing 2.0 and that the lead on the show just blames every problem in their life and everything wrong with America on the "liberals" while the rest of the cast just has to roll their eyes at the craziness. That won't be good for rating on a night with stronger competition and won't get the younger demo that advertisers want and would lead to a downfall.

I watched an episode here and there when I was a kid and enjoyed it enough to check out this reboot. I was very pleasantly surprised. As others have mentioned, the cast has a really organic chemistry with each other and I can't remember the last time I laughed so much at a live audience sitcom. I'll definitely be tuning in for the remainder of the season. Hopefully each episode is as good as the first two.

I used to watch the original with my Papa when I was like 7-8, as I got older I watched reruns and laughed harder. I watched the reboot and I was impressed. The show was probably just as good as old. I’ll bet that Sara Gilbert (Darlene) wrote the script for her weirdo boy kid. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just kinda funny with the inside jokes in the show that Darlene is gay..... it did well in ratings grabbing 18plus mil.
I’m hoping for a Fresh Prince of Bel Air reboot.

People seem to forget how highly rated that show was. It was one of the top shows on ABC and legit was cancelled only because of politics. Which is ironic seeing Roseanne was brought back in another political based move.

But also the low numbers in the 18-49 demo that brings in ad numbers didn't help. Add the fact the that ABC had to pay FOX for the show and that all contracts for the cast were up and would all likely be in for a raise. It was more of a cost cutting measure. If the show was such a money maker why didn't FOX put it on their schedule? Tuesday is also a more competitive night then Friday night.

Will Smith's daughter is supposedly doing the FPBA reboot. Tis interesting.

I've loved this show ever since I was a kid and have been anticipating the debut ever since a revival was announced. It was well worth the wait, I loved both episodes, I could not stop laughing it was so funny. I hope this show has another lenghty run.

For anyone interested, Hulu is streaming the show. The first episode is available now. And I'm going to say thing and one thing only about Last Man Standing. I'm not going to respond to anything else about the show because I don't want to get the thread locked. From Wikipedia This is a show that got ratings in the mid-low 1's for the vast majority of its run. Five of its six seasons were during the obama administration but it was cancelled after Obama left office because of politics? Right.

Last Man Standing aired on Friday nights where lower ratings are expected from Networks. The show was the #2 comedy on ABC (behind Modern Family) and #3 show overall on the network (behind Grey's Anatomy & Modern Family). LMS pulled very high ratings before being moved to Friday where the ratings obviously would drop but remained steady without a decline over the years. Compare that to another ABC comedy Black-ish which has prime scheduling (Tue/Wed), their ratings have declined every year, their 18-49 viewership is no better then Last Man Standing and their overall viewers are a million or more less then Last Man Standing. After Tim Allen came out pro Trump/Pro Conservative/Pro Republican whatever....Guess which show got cancelled? Yep...nothing political about it.

Allen has been pro Republican for years and for the shows entire run. The only thing political that did likely play a part was him saying being a Republican in Hollywood was as bad or nearly as bad as being a Jew in Nazi Germany. Roseanne's pics dressed as Hitler pulling gingerbread men out of an oven likely may set some advertisers away. Rumors are FOX is thinking of bringing back Last Man Standing because Roseanne's ratings. Also they are thinking about Malcom In The Middle and That 70's Show reboots. I actually liked Last Man Standing and wouldn't mind seeing it given a a chance on FOX, but if it doesn't reruns seem to always be on CMT.

James Woods has some very interesting thoughts on the matter. It was always in their best interests to hate republicans. Not saying you will be the cause, but I sincerely hope this doesn't get locked. Because like it or not, politics have always been a big part of Roseanne.

I must of watched a different show than everybody else because l thought it sucked. Jokes felt forced and l thought the chemistry and flow were pretty bad. I liked the old show but i didn't care for this at all.

I never loved the original. I remember my mom and sometimes my dad would watch it. When I visit my parents now on the weekends, it is often on also. (TVland or Logo?)
I watched the reboot somewhat. I paid attention for the first 30-40 minutes but then it became background noise.
I thought it was decent and I laughed some, but its just never been that appealing of a show to me.
It probably is better than most shows though. I literally watch 3 new scripted TV shows.
