Okay, so I was at Target with the wife today, and we eventually made it towards the figure aisle. There wasn't much I was interested in, but a Roddy Piper Tough Talker was front and center. My wife basically said - "Oh, he was your favorite. Put it in the cart!" My arm didn't need too much twisting, as seven-year-old me would wish and dream for a talking Piper figure.
So, obviously, the voice isn't Roddy himself. So here's the question... Does anyone know who did his voice? It sounds like the guy didn't even try. I'm still happy. Like I said...young me would've loved a talking Roddy figure.

You should get the Brock one. It's easily the best voice of the bunch.

They should have just had Bruce Prichard do Roddy and Savages voice overs for those

Great quality control from Mattel there lol. I could have done a better Roddy impression than that. That sounds a bit more like Woody from Toy Story. I thought he might've said 'Ride like the wind Bullseye!' next. lol

Any bad celebrity voice impression is usually Dave Coulier

So I'm guessing it wasn't anyone important. Thanks.

That’s probably Bill trying to do his Piper impression.

So I'm guessing it wasn't anyone important. Thanks. I'm not gonna lie, I would love an IMDB-ish site that kept track of voice acting credits on toys. That being said, the Talking Piper is 100x worse than those zany Andre's that have been coming out. I mean, it's great that Piper's family got a pay day out of it, but jeesh... Like, how does the person who OK'd the final product wipe their own ass? Of course, one could always throw a kilt on him, put him on a shelf with other figures and have an alright Piper figure. And congrats on the cool wife!

Apologies if this has already been discussed but do any of these tough talker figs feature the voice of the actual wrestler/superstar?! If no, then why not?! This line seems like a very cool idea to me- wrestling figures that talk would be any kids dream (I know I would have enjoyed something like this when I was a kid) but not having the actual wrestler do the talking defeats the purpose and makes these less desirable IMO. I am not sure how many of these they have made, the only legends I have seen were Piper, Macho & Flair at Target and all of them the voices were horrible and did not even remotely sound like any of those guys. I know Piper & Macho have passed but WWE owns the rights to the their matches, promos, etc. so they could very easily find some audio clips of Piper or Macho promos or of them saying their catch phrases. The kid in me would go crazy if it was actually Piper trash talking or Macho saying 'Ooh Yeahhh!! or better yet doing one of his promos like the infamous 'cup of coffee' one.
Thoughts?

They should have just had Bruce Prichard do Roddy and Savages voice overs for those Yeah, he does do a great impression of Randy Savage and Roddy Piper. His Piper is pretty good, but I think his Savage and Rhodes are his best. I don't understand why they would make these kinds of figures and not use the actual wrestlers voice. WWE has all the old footage of these guys doing interviews which they could easily use for these, no reason for them to go out and use voice actors for these. Still don't understand why the Flair figure came with a blank black shirt when they could have put a Horsemen t-shirt on him, and why the Savage figure came in jeans, I have watched wrestling since the mid-80s and can't remember a time when Savage wore jeans on camera.

Sorry, I did not see your post before I went on my rant which is a lot like yours. I agree with everything you said. When I saw these in Target I though about picking up the Piper, Flair, and Savage but the voices sounded awful so I did not. They could have easily used audio from there promos since WWE owns most if not all of their interviews.

They are packed away now but I bought Piper, Sting and Rollins and as shown it the video Piper doesn’t. But I am pretty sure both Sting and Rollins are actually their voices.
