I like it a lot, for the most part.
I personally only have Jey Uso and Orton that utilize the new tech, and I think they look awesome.
Depending on how the basic summerslam Angle turns out, I might buy it just to do a head swap with the elite 59 figure (who doesn't appear to have the new paint apps, despite sharing the same head scan)
That being said, there's a lot of room for improvement as well, and I look to the MCU marvel legends from Hasbro as the shining example. Hell, I think most of their stuff looks better than pricier import figures such as s.h. figuarts

I'm also biased though, because I have OCD where as soon as I get a new wwe figure, I have to paint the lips, add the white dot to the eyes, and add highlights/touch ups to hair/hairlines/facial hair.
I can't stand when hair lines are perfectly straight and neat, despite there being actual sculpted lines that show deviation. I always have to get a very small fine detail brush and fill in lines that were missed. This especially bugs me with beards or around ears where they totally miss the deco hit

My biggest issue is that it does not match the paint app style on the rest of the figure. So you may have a highly detailed face but then the rest is flat monotone hair, skin, pants etc... I also think figures with the new tech may look odd displayed next to older style figures.

Mattel usually has some bad paint apps when it comes to facial hair, highlights and tones. That's something I miss about jakks, they usually had decent texture when it came to colortones.

It’s a relatively new technology, so I’m going to give it a chance but that one Uso looks so bad

Like others have said I like it on some not so much on some so I'll wait about 6 months from now and see how they look then.

I think it's an interesting advancement but one that has not quite been perfected yet.
For example, I've noticed face printed eyes often look speckled in the iris with a rough edge. I'm guessing it wouldn't be too difficult to clean up the data (probably would need to be done by hand) before production steams ahead, so that the eyes are one solid color with sharp edges. Yes you could argue that real eyes aren't one solid color, but seen at this scale it appears as one color. Similarly I think some of the details they choose to include aren't needed, for example skin pigmentation variation can be overdone a bit in some face printing examples i've seen. Generally I think it's a case of less is more and the toy companies need to find the right balance of what details add to the likeness and which details aren't practical to include on something so small or just don't look right at that scale.
The idea certainly has merit though. Matching colors and tones to be closer to that of the real person will go a long way in improving likeness. I always say half the likeness is in the sculpt and half the likeness is in the paintjob.

The shininess of their faces is the only thing off about it. Otherwise they've all looked great so far

I can take it or leave it. Certain figures look great & some are really a swing & a miss.

Orton is horrible. Roode is ok. Overall i’m not too sure yet what I think about the new technology.

Some like Orton and to an extent EG Roode look phenomenal, but that Uso looked like he had a severe food allergy.
So far I'm loving it more than hating it. It all depends on the lighting as we saw with the upcoming Summerslam Edge
