came across this link on scott keith's blog: www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2018/4/15/17211540/wwe-wrestlemania-34-match-times-stats-breakdown-ppv-timingit breaks down the time/length of every single individual thing that happened on Wrestlemania. (Not including the pre-show) The single biggest thing to note from this is that the entire show "lasted 5 hours 10 minutes and 54 seconds (5h 10m 54s)" and "The 11 matches combined for a total time of 2h 10m 40s. This means that 42.0% of the show was devoted to bell-to-bell action." and the other thing is the amount of time they spent BEFORE each match with hype shit. most matches had over 10 minutes of pre-match hype. thats unbelievable when you think about what it actually is. if you cut HALF the time from the pre-match stuff the show would have been about 50 minutes less. Thats MASSIVE considering how many matches there were and how burned out the crowd was towards the end

Watching it live I found the video packages unbearable. They wasted too much time and were drawn out too.
On the bright side though at least their was no concert this year.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with the pre-match promos/hype etc especially when WrestleMania is a PPV that most casual/former wrestling fans order. The best thing about WWE’s video packages are you’re 100% up to speed and in the know before you watch a match, I could stop watching wrestling now up until WrestleMania 35 and still know why exactly _______ is facing _______ and be invested in the match. Yes, it was a very long show but we knew that from the get go.

They can probably create video packages more concisely and get to the point, while still providing the same info.

Yep, especially the one with Paige which they kept showing throughout the whole show.-.- I can't wait until Triple H takes over, I loved how Cane Hill had a live concert while the NXT Takeover New Orleans package was playing. Something like that I would love to see more in WWE PPVs.

There's really no excuse or justification for the length at this point. A tighter, 4-ish hour show is better for everyone.

Personally, I think that for a big show like WrestleMania, video packages are a must. If edited properly, they can be really memorable, and really add to the big match feel. The video package for Daniel Bryan for WrestleMania 30 is a great example. That was an excellently edited video package that I still find memorable. Of course there will always be a few matches that aren't part of a big enough story to need one, but most matches at WrestleMania should. Honestly, I thought there weren't enough video packages on this year's Mania. I only remember there being a few.
I'm really glad they didn't bother with a mid-show concert like they usually do. Additionally as a non-American, I've always felt the patriotic singing at the start of every WrestleMania is a waste of time.
