Not much information on it, but former U.S. champion, Mid-Atlantic Champion & manager for Jim Crockett Promotions, Paul Jones has passed away. He was 75.
He was best known for his lengthy feud with Jimmy Valiant in the NWA which spanned for years.
Rest peacefully, Mr. Jones.

Sad news. First Bruno now Jones. These things usually come in threes who’s next? Unless Johnny Valiant a couple weeks ago could be considered first. Condolences to their families.

Sad to say, but I'm thinking Pedro Morales might be next.

Oh boy. I can't honestly say I was a fan of Paul Jones. As a wrestler he was before my time, but he was a manager of the Russians and PoP when I started watching. Another loss for our wrestling community that's for sure This is where something like the WWE Hall of Fame matters; yes it's not a serious traditional Hall of Fame for other sports and it's more another opportunity for WWE to make money. But it's a place where guys can be honored for their contribution to wrestling on a grander stage than say the NWA Hall of Fame or the Cauliflower Club. Sadly Paul Jones isn't the WWE Hall of Fame to my knowledge. The next generation of wrestling fans will probably never know the role he played in the 70s and 80s.

Too many lately passing away. It's just gonna get worse too as each year goes on.
R.I.P. Paul Jones!

One of my grandmothers had it, and it's one of the worst diseases to watch someone go through, since they basically become a prisoner in their own body. And I guess I'm clueless on this, what's the story of the WWWF belt he had?

Don't quote me on this but if I'm not mistaken he tried selling his old WWWF belt to get money to go back to his home of Puerto Rico. I believe he lives in NJ currently and can no longer travel due to the toll the disease has put on him.

I believe he lives in NJ currently and can no longer travel due to the toll the disease has put on him. Wait, but why did he have the WWWF belt? I believe Alex Mulko (Nikita Mulkovitch) made a replica for him. After a bender, Pedro decided to pawn it at a NY pawn shop.
