Made my big return to work after over 3 weeks off with the flu. When I was off I was getting messages saying everyone was missing me and asking when I'm coming back, even customers were asking where I was. I told them last week to start playing my return vignettes. Felt like Triple H returning from his quad injury in 2002. There's still a lot of people I've not seen yet so it'll be like returning over and over again over the next few days. Hope I get a better pop from the ones who missed me.

Do you find it strange going back after that kind of break? I had 3.5 weeks off over/after the holidays (the last week due to car problems), and it’s just an odd feeling going back. But it’s nice that co-workers and friends are glad to see you when coming back, and in my case those I didn’t talk to during the break were curious of my whereabouts knowing that I was out longer than I said.

Bad news, might need brain and neck surgery due to too much spinal fluid and whatnot. Will leave a giant scar going up the back of my head. Good news, will need like 5 months off of work to fix it and recover. Which means 5 months of laying in bed watching TV.

Yeah it really did feel weird, felt like I'd been gone for so much longer. I've been in my job for 2 years and in that time I've only ever been off sick twice, two days in total. And have only taken 2 weeks off for a holiday, so this is the longest I've been away. I got so accustomed to being off that going back felt bizarre, the entire shift felt strange... until I was graced with the presence of the one or two I can't stand and reminded that the more things change, the more they stay the same. There's a couple barely even batted an eyelid when I came back, you'd think I was never gone with those c*nts.

Just like not remember the extremely less things that I normally do. We have like an open market type thing in the break room to buy food and drink, and the one day I accidentally took a soda without paying. Didn’t realize till I got home and saw the money in my wallet that I had to use that night.

I think it's gonna take a week or two to fully settle back in and get back into the groove of things. I'm still not completely 100 percent right now either, my voice is still not fully back and I lost a bit of weight from not eating a whole lot or moving around much when I was sick so I don't quite have my full strength back yet. Just trying my best to eat lots and get back to my normal weight.

Had a good shift at work tonight. Always enjoy a Saturday shift. Got to play my music through the shop and a half drunk customer insisted on giving me money for no apparent reason. He had a wad of notes in his pocket, gave me £20 and then another £40 a minute later. I felt bad and didn't want to take his money but he insisted so who am I to look a gift horse like that in the mouth. Was secretly hoping he'd give me the lot.

Not a promising start to the day...my son (already sick) went to a sleepover last night and slept less than 4 hours and this morning he had to report to little league pitchers/catchers clinic. He cried all morning and wouldn’t eat and was complaining about everything. On the way, his eyes were rolling in the back of his head We got there, he sucked it up..and did all I could have asked him to do, he paid complete attention. They had a mlb minor league pitcher who noticed my sons interest. He began to give my son extra advice more than any other kid there. My kid learned some stuff that’ll give him a great start and I have no doubt his eventual spring coach will let him pitch. Another thing I loved,...this other kid who looked like he didn’t belong. A little bit older than my son but smaller, he couldn’t get the ball as far as the catcher. Not close really, they made him stand closer than every other kid and still it looked bad. I don’t remember the coaches giving him any extra special attention more than any other. However,...at the end they had a contest..one pitch and if it was a strike you stay alive and if it’s a ball you are out. That kid somehow figured out how to pitch all by himself in less than two frikkin hours and won that contest
