Seriously if the Astros/Red Sox met in the ws, I'd crap myself out of happiness. Would no doubt be the most glorious thing ever. Won't happen but yeah..

I mean he cant say its about "winning" right now, he really cant, obviously all 3 teams have a shot, but its the beginning of May. If he really cared about winning he'd wait til June or July then be a front runner, this is all about the benjamins

I guess that's why he said he's got "nothing left to prove." Seriously, though, consider this: Do you think Houston is going to be a threat to anyone at year's end? It had to be between Boston and NY, and I would take the team that offered me $10 million more any day. And so would you.
The real question is, what will Roger do with all that petty cash? He can wipe his child's asses with $1,000 bills if he wants to.

In addition to it being all about the money, I really didn't see why so many analysts thought that Boston was the favorite to land him. Just because he started his career there really means nothing now. He doesn't know anybody on the team. Coming to the Yankees, he's the focal point of attention and the top dog of their staff. Plus, he's won 2 World Championships in New York with Jeter, Pettitte, Posada, Torre, etc.
When Pettitte came to the Yankees again, I had a real hard time believing that Clemens would go back to Boston, unless they made him an offer that blew him off his feet. He wasn't going to go to a division rival to his best friend's team.
Clemens said that he had a meeting with Steinbrenner back in March, and at the meeting Steinbrenner said something to Clemens that he said he'd keep forever and may or may not reveal them at the end of the season. I wonder what was said...
It's funny, though, that nearly every analyst who I've seen interviewed have said that Clemens going to the Yankees won't matter and they'll end up missing the playoffs anyway.

Well I hope they miss the playoffs and hope so, but its gonna help them.
Again, I dont know why people thought the Red Sox had a shot, he has no heart, and his blood flows green.

Probably has photos of Clemens raping a little girl using a $1000000 bill as a condom.

I think for Clemens this is definately about winning but obviously not as much as it is about money.
He kept pumping out his WS ring on his fist when he was introduced to the crowd.
Everytime something happens for the Yankees somebody has to crap on it methodically like it changes the fact that overall it betters the Yankees chances and they instantly now just made Toronto and Boston's lives a lot harder. Not to mention that the Yankees are showing small life winning 4 of the last 5, having two guns throw near perfect/no hit games and this all happened DIRECTLY after everybody blew their load on the 2 weeks it was open season on the Yankees for going through crap that negates negative talk on their teams.
It's just the Yankees being the Yankees I guess. That makes it ok.

Why is it just because NY Signs a player they are "buying" a championship or the player is just out for the money. NY could have walked right out and say $50mil for the rest of the year. But they didnt, Clemens played by his rules just like he did last year. When he signed last year with the astros nobody was pissing about how hes just out for the money. He joined his friend Andy Pettitte at home to help lead the Stros to a world series. Lets face it, Pettitte isnt there and the Stros suck! Why would you go back to boston when the owner at the time said he was past his prime and was washed up....Note this was also said to clemens before they released/traded him.....10 YEARS AGO!!! So you can go somewhere (houston) where nobody is at, no real friends nothing special.......you can go somewhere that turned their backs on you and said you were washed up, OR you can go somewhere that needs and wants you, That has your best friends (pettitte) the man that you brought to the yankees (giambi), one of the greatest lineups of all time and possibly mentor a young man who many people say could be the "Baby Rocket".......Yea I think clemens made the right choice!! Oh and dont give me the crap about "well NY is 5.5 games out of first place" Whoop ti do!! Last year there were 11 games out and come playoff time we were 10 games up and boston was already working on their offseason moves since they missed the playoffs!!

WE WANT CLEMENS!" *Clemens signs with the Yankees" Fans: "F*CK THAT GUY! Clemens sucks and is old!!! Julian Tavarez is awesome!!!" It's good to see that Red Sox fans aren't getting obnoxious or anything yet .....that was my best attempt to convey sarcasm over the internet. This is my open statement to all Boston Red Sox fans......we've been in first place for 10 years, you have been in first place for 10 days.....please don't start sh*t right now because nobody ever got a prize for being in First Place on May 7th.

Wow I didnt even read that until now.
Clemens was not resigned because the FORMER GM and Ownership didnt think he was worth it, the GM and Ownership now LOVE him and Clemens respects them. So that comment was off base.
The Astros dont suck, The Yankees actually do.
Every team "WANTED" Clemens, the Yankees were the only ones who loved him right?
Baby Clemens? You know Hughes isnt really built like him, someone like Papelbon is like Clemens, with the 1 pitch, from Texas, ballsy attitude. Not Hughes, a FORMER Red Sox fan.
Of course you think Clemens made the right choice cuz he went to YOUR TEAM!
The Yankees outbid the Red Sox by 10$ million, money talks, he did it for $$$.
