I'm starting to try and get into Japanese and Mexican figures. Are there any wrestling figures that are or were made outside of North America, Japan and Mexico?
For example, the Marty Scurll action figure by Rev Pro Wrestling in the UK states that it's "the first ever action figure produced by a European wrestling promotion."

AFAIK there are three "figures" of wrestlers outside North America, Japan and Mexico:
l'Empereur: this was more a mini statue. Oblivion: character from the UK show Gladiators, played by Nick Aldis: who would become TNA wrestler (Brutus) Magnus. Marty Scurll: figure for Revolution Pro Wrestling UK.

Star Toys of Spain came out with 8 officially licensed WWF figures between 1991-92. The first set of figures had the crazy realistic hair and the second set only had hard hair. There's also a set of smaller PVC figures (3.75" scale) that were released, but because there's no trademark stamp on them I don't believe they're actually from Star Toys.
Grand Toys in Canada released the final LJN series.
Off the top of my head, I think those are the only other officially licensed toy companies that I can think of from other countries. Everything else is pretty much bootleg or generic type of wrestler.

Brazil made figure for the tv show 100% lucha Not Brazil, but Argentina. Also from Argentina: licensed figures (by Plastirama) in the classic MOTU-style for Lucha Fuerte.

You said there were 8. I know there is one that I've seen that is the same mold, but is a generic looking wrestler guy with molded hair. I'd be curious what you are basing the number 8 off of.

Over the years, I've collected a total of 8 of the large Star Toys figures. The first series includes Hulk, Warrior, Duggan, and Jake. When you open the box, they come with a little fold out sheet listing all the figures for series 1. Series 2 has Bossman, Jake, Duggan, and Texas Tornado. The series 2 figures all have hard heads and a cloth accessory; they don't have the crazy realistic hair. For Series 2, I only got Jake and Bossman with their boxes; there wasn't any fold out paper with them though. Jake and Duggan are similar to their series 1 sculpts, but different enough to be unique. Now I'm curious though. What does the generic figure look like that you're talking about?

The generic one is probably a Tarzan or Hercules figure, even though the foot reads "(R)WWF" and "(C)1991-Titan Sports"...

Bossman is a part of the first series, he's just the only one without "real" hair. I've never seen a Jake or Duggan without the "real" hair. The generic one does look like Tarzan, which I could see someone trying to pass off as Kerry Von Erich. I don't believe that a Von Erich figure exits. I'd love to see a pic of the Jake you say you have without the "real" hair.

The generic one, that is stamped "WWF" on the foot, but is probably Tarzan as mentioned above.

I'd love to see a pic of the Jake you say you have without the "real" hair. It's totally possible that they're all a part of the same series, but because the first 4 have hair and my other 4 only have molded hair I just thought maybe it's a new series. I headed to my storage locker today and found Jake for you. I just moved from Cali back to NY, so a lot of my collection is in boxes still -- but when I eventually get things more organized I can post all of them. I got these at the Maybrook Flea market in NY back whenever the movie Hook came out; I only remember this because I have 2 giant sized Hook figures that I used to battle the star toys with; unfortunately I don't have any of their boxes anymore. @ Ruby ... that's a weird Star Toys body. There's no gloss on it at all. I'm almost positive that's the head sculpt I have for Texas Tornado except my Tornado figure is wearing a red or yellow trunks attire ... definitely think he's wearing red, but I can't remember if his boots were red or his trunks. It also has a "claw" hand. As far as I know, Star Toys only did licensed toys; they don't do bootlegs. I know they also did large Marvel figures (I think Spiderman, Hulk, and Captain American), but I never heard of them doing Tarzan.
