With Mike Lowell day-to-day, do you think the Red Sox will rest him for the upcoming games in NL parks so that Youk will be at 3B and Ortiz at 1B? This is a type of injury that might effect a player in the long run.

Who knows, maybe, Francona loves Hinske so who knows. Id hope he sits today.
I mean the Red Sox only need to win 1 of these 3 games, so Elizabeth Hasselbeck can change his sig.
The matchups look very even, so its possible the Sox could take 2, or the Yankos take 2, or we split. Last night was the worst matchup for us.

Someone please explain why Todd Jones is still a major league closer, let alone the closer of a team with championship aspirations this season. Leyland is a great manager but he makes some real boneheaded decisions. I think the job is Zumaya's for the taking...but I don't like having Todd Jones as closer just because "he has the experience." The Tigers have other pitchers with way better stuff.

Zumaya and Rodney are hurt, so as of now they have no choice, plus Jones was half way decent last year and hes still under contract. Its just a matter of time though

Torre explodes! Proctor drops Youkilus!!! Yanks have a fire in there belly. Yanks are back!! No they're not. You just want to believe they are. They will sweep this weekend and be 10 back in the loss with 4 months to play which is totally doable. They will win the world series this year.

The Yankees won't sweep this weekend. If they do, I'll put a Yankees logo somewhere in my sig for the rest of the season.

Even if they do sweep this weekend they have a long way to go to just maken the playoffs, and winning the first round, 2nd round, then the World Series. Grow up kid/man, calm down
You sound like an overly excited 12 year old.

UNBELIEIVABLE.....
For the life of me I can NOT believe that this umpire just WARNED Mike Mussina on a Knuckle-Curve that went NOWHERE near hitting Dustin Pedroia........
Yanks are going to lose this game if Mike Mussina is not allowed to use the inside corner of the plate......as a pitcher I know that you simply can NOT perform if you are not allowed to come inside.

Conspiracies

|
Post by Lorenzo Alcazar on Jun 2, 2007 15:26:22 GMT -5
It's not conspiracies....Its just that the umpires are so scared that somebody is going to get thrown at or that a fight will break out that at the first sign of an inside pitch they throw out a warning. This call hurts both the Yankees and the Red Sox.....if an inside pitch gets away from either Moose or Curt Schilling, either team is in danger of having their starting pitcher thrown out of the game.

You can blame your boy Proctor for that, he wasnt doing it intentionally last night, but he has in the past and that got peoples attention, especially the umps

No suspension or fine for Proctor. Nice.

Yah he def wasnt going after Youk last night, but he has a history of doing it, so the umps were over-careful today.
His arm is going to fall off by July anyways, so let him pitch now

They did, calm down, MLB is DIRECTLY concerned with Mike Mussina's being able to pitch in sprinkles.

This umpire crew is a joke. They should have waited before calling a rain delay...
