I sympathize with Corey because, let's face it, Punk is his own biggest mark. Corey feels betrayed by a guy he thought of as an older brother type, which I get. But to air out his issues on Twitter right after he lost is a little petty, tbh.

Honestly, he sounds like a bitter ex-girlfriend after reading the whole thing. And choosing to do this after Punk's loss is just sad.
Love Corey as a commentator, but I lost a bit of respect for him after this - not only for the Punk drama, but dragging Omega into it for no reason and acting like you can only like him or NJPW if you're some wrestling hipster.

UFC gave him a huge platform to embark on his MMA career and he took it. Any other fighter celebrity who is into UFC and wanted to try it would've done the same thing. Fixed.

The guy trained every day since he left WWE for this career and to lose twice, it just means you’re not good. Some people could train for 3-4 years and be absolutely amazing. Hell, they could train for only a year and be a beast. Some people either have it, or they don’t. It’s the same for any profession and Punk simply just doesn’t have it when it comes to MMA.

Punk wasnt training everyday since he left the company. He reported to Roufusport in Feb 2015 and since then has been injured several times, writing comic books, watching the Blackhawks and Cubs, making media appearances, on trail for a lawsuit, etc.

Social media is for pics of your lunch and cat videos, not conversations that should be private. Nothing good happens after you hit "send". Not for Roseanne, not for Graves,... who's next to embarrass themselves?

I figured it would have continued to his second fight. That’s his own fault then. Drew McIntyre drove 7 hours every day at one time to train and get in the shape he’s in. I don’t know Punks mindset, but that’s how it should have been if he was truly serious about UFC like he claimed to be.

He will tweet a pic later holding a radio outside Punk's window.

I’ve lost a lot of respect for him. Don’t air your beef with him publicly. Bitching and crying makes him sound so petty.

FLUX '97Some have already discussed this is the Punk UFC/WWE thread. So I'll merge this in there so we only have one Punk thread on the front page.

BREAKING NEWS! CM Punk returns to WWE live event and defeats Lesnar for the Universal title, preventing him from breaking the 434 day reign.

"Nobody else would have done it" if UFC offered me (or probably half the members on here too) the kind of money Punk was offered, I'd be in there getting beat up too. At least I know how to guard my face and not be gassed after one round of intense sparring.

CM Punk didnt have to do it for the money and moving to Milwaukee and training with Duke Roufus isnt cheap, so he most likely lost money on this endeavor.

In regards to the Graves/Punk situation, as a big fan of both guys after reading into Corey's explanation, I wholeheartedly sympathise with Graves, and I think Punk is definitely in the wrong. Outside of Twitter, Corey has explained exactly why he tweeted what he did, and completely understand why. I feel that people saying "I've lost respect for Corey after this" and "talk about it in private" haven't read any further than Corey's Twitter timeline, and are therefore misunderstanding the situation. From what I gather, Graves and Punk were good friends, and after Corey invited Punk to a meal in late 2016, Punk declined and said that he no longer wanted to be friends with him or anyone associated with WWE, purely because of the fact that Corey is employed by WWE. Chalking it up to pre-fight preparations, Corey didn't take offense to it at the time. Something that Punk either did or said this week is what set Corey off. Over the past couple of years, Graves has tried to communicate with Punk over a dozen times over the past couple of years, but with no response. With that in mind, I completely understand why Corey chose to do this publicly rather than in private. He's gotten completely ignored by Punk, so he can't talk to him privately. What else should he have done? Punk is on Twitter, he'll see this. If Corey can't get through to him privately, then maybe getting through to him publicly will work. Either way, I think Corey just wants his friend back, and doing it this way was a last resort. www.fightful.com/wrestling/exclusives/exclusive-corey-graves-explains-his-cm-punk-related-tweets-fightful

Missing out on training for comics, hockey games, injuries etc was already him losing money. Getting his 💩 pushed in on LIVE TV also is him losing money because as much as people want to argue and say this didn't hurt his legacy, it did without a doubt. Why? Because he is a celebrity and therefore he is a brand. That brand is harmed and loses value when it has it's face beaten repeatedly on television. Does he still win at life? Oh yeah even if he was broke and homeless he still has AJ Lee and that's a win no matter what.

CM Punk looked like the biggest joke in UFC history in that fight. He has absolutely has no business in the UFC or MMA. Dude was out there getting picked apart by a nobody who had never won a fight himself. I'm so over this dude and his massive ass ego. Let him rot on his couch the rest of his life if he wants. Dude isnt as good as he tries to sell himself to be.

He wanted to try MMA and he did, kudos to him for doing what he wanted to do. But after last night he should take a look in the mirror and ask if he wants to try to keep going with that. He had two matches, he made a bunch of money and he tried something he has always wanted too, he should just take that and run. I cant see anything good coming from him continuing.
