OK when it comes to WWE figures Elite are alway's the most superior and blow Basic's away. However their is a rare time when the Basic wins.
Here are my thoughts. Tensai Samoa Joe Modern Shawn Michaels. Mark Henry The Big Show Randy Orton
Anyone else?

The basic RVD from the battle pack with Rey Mysterio is by far his best attire done by Mattel. Some might argue that the two best CM Punk figures are the basics of his Macho Man and Hitman tribute attires.

IMO Jack Swaggers last basic figures were better. I just think his elites were way too thin.

I wouldn't say better but Ultimate Warrior's basics are just as good as his elites. Green Suit DiBiase is probably his best figure. EG Jericho is better than any of his elites. EG Undertaker is probably his best figure.

I wish we had gotten Zack Ryder's WM7 Macho Man-inspired attire in elite rather than just basic form

I wish we had gotten Zack Ryder's WM7 Macho Man-inspired attire in elite rather than just basic form By gawd, this right here all day ! Mattel knew this was a highly wanted attire, but I guarantee you they didn’t want to spend more money on tooling to eventually make less when they could just toss it out as a basic and people would still buy it. Nothing anyone says will make me feel differently, especially with how long it took for it to come out. No new parts, nothing ... just paint apps slapped on a standard basic body. Shame on Mattel for this, as they’re capable of MUCH better.

How about Sting? I like basic series 55 over his DM and RSC and all others. That 55 is not perfect by any means, but it’s him in his wrestling gear at his most iconic. I think a lot of these figures being better in basic form over elite will come down to attires. I really wish Mattel would give us a nice elite version of that figure with his gloves and boots done right.

I am looking to sell or trade that figure right now and nobody is interested.

The big obvious one is Rhyno. His Basic figure is damn good - I was happy to find it with the MitB briefcase as a bonus. Another one is definitely Jack Swagger, though that's been mentioned already.
Big Show's Elite Fan Central figure is probably his best figure to date, so I don't think he qualifies as much as he used to.

My favorite triple h is the summerslam basic.
I think basic surfer stings are better than the elite one also.

I remember being so excited about his Elite figure and once it hit the shelves I took one look and it was an instant pass. I would go as far to say that the Basic Rhyno is his best ever figure.

The recent Usos Battle Pack attire is far superior to the Elites.
