Mark "all sales are final" on all figures. Its illegal not to accept returns lol no its not. Theres countless places that dont do returns. Theres also some that will only accept a return if defective. Most places do accept returns but if you read the back of just about any reciept it says "company has the right to refuse a return"

Theyve changed the packaging so often but haven't had the idea of packing them like basics, having to peel the bubble off the card to access the accessorys should stop people as the boxes are now you can pretty much finger the belts or whatever out of the box without even opening it.

Maybe they can switch to clamshell packaging? This would be the way to go if they truly wanted to stop accessory theft. Only thing is once it is open you loose the ability to rebox your figures. Always a catch.

Whens stores start to see a trend in parts of a product being stolen, they put them in security cases some stores for Long Boxes. The same you would see DVDs and Blu-Rays in. I use to work at a store where we would put small accessories in those. And it's not uncommon to see headphones like at a Best Buy with that spider lock looking thing. I'm sure stores could take better approaches to help prevent stuff like this happening, maybe put them behind a glass case and make customers have to get someone with a key to get one, but they probably don't make enough on them to care or they would.

Also alot more difficult to return it once it is open.

Have people take turns doing shifts guarding the Mattel WWE sections in their toy stores 🤷🏽♂️ Seriously, nothing would stop it. However I think the toughest packaging I’ve ever had to deal with was one of the Marvel Legends Wolverine figures where you needed atleast a knife or scissors to get through the plastic packaging.

There you go. Clamshell packaging.
Also as far as returns different stores have different return policies. Like some only giving you store credit instead of a refund.

No packaging fix will ever work because someone will always find a way to steal the belts and sell or keep them.
Most people working in retail don't care anyway since they are getting paid so poorly and lazy or overworked to make up for the lazy employees.
What is going to happen in a few years is toys are going to be treated like movies and video games. You can only get a replacement for being defective and once its opened it can not be refunded.
So belt thieves enjoy it while it lasts because soon the party will be over, its only a matter of time before walmart, target, etc adopt this policy.
The only other option is to devalue the worth/value of the figure belts on ebay. So that means mattel word have to crank out more belt packs and more frequently.
If you can only make a few bucks per belt on ebay it would not be worth it.

Clamshell packaging would just give another reason to have budget cuts on the line.

Clamshell would prevent some people from ripping the box up but not from cutting through the packaging
