So I guess they retconned all the sequels. Which is disappointing cause it would have been nice to see Danielle Harris return as Jamie. Still though this looks really good.

Looks awesome. I'm kinda glad they ignored all the sequels. We really didn't need to try and deal with the Thorn and all that nonsense.

I wasn't originally crazy about the idea of ignoring all the sequels but I totally get it. I enjoyed the trailer. The Halloween movies are my favourite horror franchise by far. Can't wait for the movie!

Although it looks good, my god Hollywood have run out of ideas.

This is going to be great. This is as close to the original as they can get.
Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode, they convinced John Carpenter to come back and do the score. Hell, even the original Michael Myers Nick Castle is coming back!!
I'm glad they are ignoring all the sequels. This is a direct sequel to the original from 1978.
I'm sure it will do very well and I will be seeing it for sure.

I'm going to be in the minority on this one but I don't like Jamie Lee Curtis coming back. It's difficult for me to look pass the comments that she has made in private and in public about the franchise. I'm all for more Halloween films, I just wish she wasn't in it.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!!!!!!
I've wanted another "Good" Halloween movie every since Rob Zombie ruined the series with his crap ones.

Sounds good to me. Nothing to put you in the Fall mood like a good slasher film.

The trailer looked good, but I have to be honest and say that I found the majority of the Halloween sequels a lot of fun even though going by the reaction online, to really enjoy this new one and be a real Halloween fan you have to say you hated all of the movies except the first one.
Me and the Halloween series have a kind of weird history in that that as a kid Halloween III was actually the first movie in the series that I saw.

Halloween 3 would have been good if it was just called Season of the Witch.

Is this just another reboot?

Is this just another reboot? It looks like another case of 'Okay, let's just pretend the sequels and reboots that most people hated never happened and go back to square one.' Kind of like what it looks like they are trying to do with the Terminator and Alien franchises soon. I suppose Robocop will get the same treatment somewhere down the line too.

Is this just another reboot? Sorta. It’s a direct sequel to the original movie, essentially ignoring all of the movies after it. While I enjoy Halloween 2 and the reveal that they are siblings, this new take opens a lot of possibilities as well. It will be cool to see him as a psychopathic killer simply going after the one person who got away from him versus the whole “killing his family and Cult of Thron” stuff.

Halloween H20 already retconned out everything after Halloween 2 which was a great move because they were all crape. I am surprised that this is retconning II though......not surprised it retcons H20 & Resurrection.
Looking forward to seeing it!!!

I’m a huge Halloween fan but I’m not down with this. Jamie Lee returns whenever she wants to and f’s with the storylines. I liked the Thorn stuff. It gave Michael more depth. I mean, you can be shot 6 times, burned, shots some more...shot some more...without something semi supernatural in the works. Halloween was grounded in a sort of paranormal yet normal reality. The supernatural aspects don’t overshadow the normality of the situation. It’s not hokey like Friday the 13th, not over the top like Nightmare in Elm Street, not lame voodoo like Child’s Play.
I think that H20 totally could have been worked to include Halloween 4-6. I love Danielle Harris and it would have been cool to see her alongside Jamie Lee.
Tbh, I’d rather see a sequel to Season of the Witch rather than this retconned mess of junk. I actually enjoy Halloween 3. Had people given it a chance, I think we’d see a lot less Michael tbh.

I watch Halloween III anytime its on TV....really like it. I know it was a stab at doing anthology tales instead of starring Myers but it needed to be a stronger outing. It feels like an afterthought...not a genuine attempt to "have a go" if ya like.
